"Someone Like You" by Adele

Adele, imho, has crafted her music to reflect sadness: heartbreak, lost love, etc.
I'm not aware of anything happy or upbeat in her music.

I would guess that probably 80% - 90% of all songs are just that ("sadness: heartbreak, lost love") .

I think it's a really powerful song. Only thing I don't understand is that it seems she showed up at his wedding. But she has already mentioned he's married. Really don't get that part. She mentions she shows up"uninvited" but uninvited to what? If she didn't mention the wedding first, you'd think it would be for that. That part confuses me.

Her former boyfriend is now married and settled down.
It seems like she just stopped by (his house?) "out of the blue uninvited".

I heard that you're settled down, That you found a girl and you're married now

Last night at the Grammys Adele won "Best Pop Solo Performance" for Someone Like You

In addition, she won 5 more Grammys;

Album Of The Year: "21"
Best Pop Vocal Album: "21"
Song Of The Year for: "Rolling In The Deep"
Record Of The Year: "Rolling In The Deep"
Best Short Form Music Video: "Rolling In The Deep"

Keep on Rock'n

I heard Adele and saw her video for the first time in a gym on a tv screen. I literally stopped in my tracks and watched the music video, and I generally detest music videos. Here is a 62 year old man who gives a two thumbs down on all of today's contemporary music. I'm really enjoying listening to Adele.

I watched more of the Grammy's last night than I ever had. I ignore it usually. I watched a bit of it last night to catch some of Adele and I watched "60 Minutes"to catch the segment on her. I must be a fan.

One question about the Grammy's, I didn't understand the mouse thing, Is that a big hit now? Can some of the younger, more hip posters, explain to an old man about the mouse?

I went googling about the mouse last night. First site said something along the lines of: Now you kids have to explain to everyone over 50 about the mouse guy tomorrow morning.

Many thanks for the link from me too! Being a "child of the 60's" music-wize and age, and my children of the unfortunate 80's music - I am totally out of touch with what's current.

I happened to catch a few minutes of the Grammies prior to my PBS Downton Abbey - I was impressed with Adele's looks and demeanor - so I really enjoyed your link. I also listened to a few more - and then heard Amy Winehouse's music for the first time (unfortunate story).
