Raiders Exploring Possibilities of Moving Team to Las Vegas

The Raiders want the City of Oakland to pony up big bucks to build a new stadium but there is no money in city coffers for that, particularly when there are so many other civic needs. Mark Davis only has the Raiders; other owners have side businesses that generate money. One wonders what he'll have to pay to play in Adelson's new park; a share of ownership, perhaps? The Raiders only play 8 home games a year, so the stadium will need to be utilized for other purposes the rest of the time.

The plans are for the stadium to also host UNLV games.

I would imagine several big name concerts would play there, not excluding the I Heart Radio concerts.

Maybe you can dress the Raiderettes in even skimpier costumes.

RAIDERETTES IN FORMALWEAR

Imagine betting windows/kiosks in the stadium available before NFL games and numerous ongoing prop bet windows and electronic betting in the stadium via cell phones and electronic devices while the game is in progress.

Of course the NFL would get a cut of the NFL action - otherwise it won't happen.

overwhelming stupidity and poor clicks got the best of me this time. Oh, well. Wasn't the first time

Great Idea.
True there are a few "idiot" raider fans who like to start fights...BUT I think Vegas security can handle them better than Oakland police did.

Also - we can have Dana White use his UFC fighters as security for the games.

I think it would bring at great atmosphere to Vegas. The Raiders would be more of a national - international team "THE Vegas Raiders"

The city will have to get their infrastructure in order....Monorail from airport to the stadium is a must. It may prompt an hotel expansion on Tropicana.

Isn't there a motitoriam on casinos in Nevada setting llines and accepting bets on pro and college sporting events that have in-state teams particapating in such games??? Wasn't there some kind of deal worked out with the Maloof's and either the NBA or the Gaming Commission before they could buy the Sacramento Kings or get their gaming licence??? I forget which order these events took place. I seem to remember that there was some major bitching and moaning whae UNLV got to the championship game a long time ago because the sport books couldn't take bets on the game.

I haven't been to Vegas for about five years so some or all that could have changed.
