Raiding the Rock Vault

I could not talk friend in going to see this show last September. It has now moved over to the Tropicana and I'd like to see it in January. Has anybody gone, and what did you think of it?

I recommend it.

It's very big and feels like a stadium show, complete with smoke and lasers. If you like hard-edged stuff from the 70's and 80's you'll enjoy it. As a result of the show I'm a bigger fan of Def Leppard and Whitesnake than I ever was back in the day. I've seen it several times, and the performances are first rate; they never phone it in. They have some comedy interludes which really annoyed me at first, but most everyone else seems to like them, and they actually are funny.

The cast is made up of musicians who are "almost famous," like Robin McCauley who fronted Survivor after their hit-making days, and two-hit wonder Paul Shortino. And your graphic is a bit out of date. Traci Guns was fired over a year ago. Co-creator John Payne was fired a few months ago and replaced by Bon Jovi's bass player, so it wasn't exactly a downgrade. And no-hit wonder Andrew Freeman rocks, he's a real find.

We saw seven shows in one week, and Raiding the Rock Vault was in our top two out of the seven shows. You will feel like you are at a rock concert . . . . loud, loud, loud, and complete with groupies who will stand throughout the show and interact with the band members.
We despised the little comedy vignettes, but they are in the show, I think, to give band members a break, as this is a fairly long show. (almost two hours, I recall)
Loved the background videos and the snippets of history about the bands and their music.
I'd see this show again! Apparently, so would 95% or more of tripadvisor reviewers!
