am I missing something?

social meaning to have fun, meeting people, conversation. this has nothing to do with winning or gambling returns, skills, etc. so if someone wanted to go to a casino, and meet people, and have a conversation while playing -- which game?
Craps players certainly make the most noise. I'd say craps and BJ. In craps and blackjack you have an us-against-the-house collaborative mentality going. The difference is that many BJ players think that what other players do affects them, and take it personally if someone does something they don't like. Also, many BJ players are not sociable and may not even want anyone else at the table. So craps wins out.

Poker can be sociable but only to a point because you want his money and he wants yours. Some VP players will talk and some won't, but the game is essentially one of self-absorption. The only time I ever play slots is with someone I like a lot who insists, and the game itself requires no thought whatsoever, so for me it's very social, but for most probably not.
Paigow...

And its a great game to sit around and play with a bunch of friends.
Another vote for Pai Gow. It has the group dynamics of craps, lacks the BJ perception that one player can affect another, encourages showing cards and discussing how to play a given hand, and most importantly has a lot of downtime between actual playing of cards to leave time for conversation.

My choices are:

Craps
Slots
BJ
VP

Craps seems to be the most social just due to the fact that everyone is going to be counting on the shooter for a specific number or sets of numbers. Regular slots usually are very enteraining because theres not much strategy to them. BJ has a touch of anti-social behavior, however its usually the hardcore folks. VP folks and I don't get along too well, so they rate real low on my social meter. It may be me, my smell, what I say, how I say it, or maybe I just need to learn a son and dance number. (although with my singing ability, thats a major no.)
Yeah, Love chatting with the guy at the craps table betting the dont...
