Refugees, Migrants Deported From Greece, Land in Turkey Under EU Deal

How completely ironic, the migrants are holding up a sign that reads "wake up Europe". Umm, I believe they have and that's why you're all being sent back to Turkey. I knew it would only be a matter of time before Europe finally called it quits for the most part. Now Obama is wanting to bring in God knows how many( I hear varying amounts). I wonder if the IS will want to bump up plans to get some people in here now that Europe is being shut down. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

"Monday marked a turning point in Europe's refugee crisis, with the first group of migrants shipped back to Turkey from Greece as part of a contentious plan shrouded in protests.

Around 130 migrants — mostly from Pakistan and Bangladesh — boarded two ferries at dawn from the Greek island of Lesbos and traveled to the Turkish port of Dikili, according to officials.."

EDIT: I just read this, hadn't seen this before

"In return, the European Union will take in thousands of Syrian refugees directly from Turkey and reward it with more money, early visa-free travel and progress in its EU membership negotiations.."

10,000 is sorta the baseline, initial, "camel's nose into the tent" number of Syrian refugees sought by The Obama.

DonDiego expects it to rise.

The map below indicates where Syrian refugees were settled from 2012-2015. Additional refugees are likely to be settled nearby the earlier entrants.

It appears the most unlucky immigrants ended up in Memphis, TN. And a lucky few made it to Las Vegas, where their faith is likely to be severely tested.
Apparently Appalachia is not a popular destination for our newfound Countrymen.
10,000? Is that Obama's "red line in the sand"?

Charlottesville Va. !? Seriously? Home of Thomas Jefferson and Monticello. Wow, that's a pretty smallish ,sleepy southwestern Va. town. I can't fathom any them acclimating to that town. Almost certain the population isn't that happy about it. Could be wrong, just don't see it.

So happy to see dark blue around us, but happier no blue at all where we're moving. And no not a xenophobe or any other kind of phobe either.

My parish, and the one next to us are sponsoring a family. The father was in prison for three years for anti- Assad remarks, and when he was released, they family escaped to Jordan and then to Sicily where they are in a refugee camp for the last two years. We got them an apartment for two years, a member is going to employee the husband and several members will help the woman find work and help with her family. Both of them and the two children have been taking English classes while they wait for their final approval. A bit under 400 families pledged $10 a month each to help them out. About a year ago, when this first came out, a small vocal group wanted to make sure the family was Christian. When that was voted down, they left and supposedly were going to sponsor a different family. I don't think they ever did.
It takes a village.
Judging by the distribution map so graciously provided by DD, it looks like Arklahoma isn't very popular destination, either.
Of course, Montana, Wyoming, N and S Dakota would be a wonderful change of weather, wouldn't it?
Lots of Muslims equals lots of trouble. Take that to the bank. Libs will argue for this and that, but it's a fact. Lots of Muslims equals lots of trouble.

Takes a village to allow a Trojan horse also. Sounds like a wonderful thing you all are doing but how would everyone feel if the couple turned out to be another San Bernadino couple? I realize the chances are miniscule, but there's always that "what if" that could be hanging. Or should anyway. They were seemingly an ordinary all American family, kid and all.
I try not to let hypothetical boogie men rule my life.
