Reno ?

I just wondered if anyone knows what is still open in Reno? I have read stuff on the internet and I don't know what to believe. I know the Peppermill and Atlantis are still open, but I have heard that pretty much everything, like Silver Legacy, El Dorado, and that whole complex is gone, along with most other stuff? Is it true or all fluff? Not planning to give up Vegas, AT ALL, but I was just curious? t-75 days and counting!
Silver Legacy and El Dorado are both alive and kicking. I think SIlver Legacy recently remodeled the hotel. I think the Atlantis and Peppermill remain the 2 big gems but the other dives are still around too.
Leave it to PJ to know.........
Wow.........How can you forget Circus Circus?????????

My sister called me today from Reno. She visited Circus Circus yesterday. If any more casinos had closed, she would have told me.

Everything is still very much open except Fitzgerald's and they are keeping that lighted and "may" reopen.

My husband and I drove from Victoria to Reno and stayed at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks for Easter. Very enjoyable. Loved the rotisserie buffet and the deli. Very comfortable rooms at $33.00 per night - and a great view over Reno. They also have a wonderful pool and spa area but repairs were being done over Easter so we couldn't use the facilities. This is still a great family-owned hotel with John Ascuaga
actually greeting guests in the buffet most days, I am told.

Went to the CalNev for lunch and played some slots but that is about all. We wouldn't walk downtown at night so can't comment on the downtown hotels.

Hope this helps - my first input.

Golden Pheonix (Former Flamingo Hilton) and Sundowner are still empty, no? I miss Harold's club.
