Rental Car

Melonhead is correct that Vegas rental car rates will change dramatically over time. USUALLY, they drop as the rental date nears.
I 2would make a bid at Priceline.com. You might get a car for less than $10 a day.
I check all of the rental car companies on their sites and often. A lock in the lowest price I see (don't pre pay though) thru an online reservation, and then keep looking as most of the time prices will drop, and then you cancel the other reservation which is quick and easy when I find a lower rate.
On costco you can bring up the details on the car you pick and the code will show up. I usually go to the rental company (usually Budget) and insert the code and get the same price...but not always. Never had a problem with them asking for my costco card (although I have one).

I normally use Dollar.....
Make sure you check a week before you pickup - as rates normally drop.

Taxes and facility fees are like Hotel resort fees.....for a 2 week rental from the airport - they will be high. renting a car will still be cheaper than cab rides.
Costco requires membership number when reserving. I've found I get the best deals though.

I am a COSTCO member and use their code frequently when renting cars. I've probably used it 7-8 times and have never once been asked to show my COSTCO card at the rental counter. In fact - most of the rental car companies have programs now that allow you to bypass the counter altogether...so there is nobody in the process to check your card..

PJ, you have a nice drive to Costco. I used to belong but didn't use it enough due to it being 30 minutes from home. It's a great place, however.

Its a drive from my house - but only a mile from where I work. SO it works out nice.
I like going there for lunch - pretty good pizza and its cheap.
I stop by there at least weekly for the hot dog special, but have found that Sams Club is more business friendly (hours, etc) and a little cheaper, so thats where I shop most of the time.
