Rental cars?

my target price with all taxes and ripoff fees included is $25 a day or less. my last rental was march 30th for 6 nights. I paid $161, so I missed it by a few bucks.
I shoot for $15. I've had very good luck getting upgrades from the yard folks. The one time I was unable, I ended up with a Kia Soul, a truly fun ill car.
Others have mentioned this, and I've also noticed that rental car prices tend to decrease as Vegas travel dates approach. Two months prior to my my last Vegas trip, a 4 day full sized rental was going to run me some $160 total. A few days before my trip began I utilized Costo's rental program, getting an Alamo full size car for $6.66 per day plus taxes and fees. I think with taxes and fees it amounted to around $14.00 per day for my Dodge Charger.

While this rental car price is lower than I've normally snagged, I've consistently noticed that prices decrease as the travel date approaches.

... that looks like Alamo.
I posted this earlier under "transportation" ... UPDATE.... I just booked a rental with budget for 6 nights starting may 4th. ford focus or similar, $94.42 with all taxes and rip-off fees included. that is $15.73 per day, my goal is $25 per day or less. I am pleased with that one. and it would have been about $10 cheaper if I pre-paid.
THANK YOU SO MUCH pjstrot!! I tried your codes for Alamo and they were better than the codes I was using!!!

I will, however, continue to monitor Alamo's site until we leave May 18.

Just to prove that checking often does matter- my original quote was $434. Of course I know, from experience this would NOT be the final price. I now have the $424 down to $339. This isn't toooo bad for 10 days but still higher than other times.

My goal is $300 OR LESS. THINK I'LL MAKE IT.??? It is kinda fun too!
Yes, I believe that you will get under $300. I'm guessing that you'll see your best pricing within a few days of trip.

Now I'm nervous........When I went back to see confirmation it said COSTCO!! I do not belong to Costco! I belong to . Sure
I checked the actual confirmation that I will print out and no where does it mention COSTCO.

DO YOU THINK I WILL HAVE ANY TROUBLE.?????

Other years I use the American Casino Guide codes because I buy the book BUT THEY NEVER ASK FOR PROOF. Sure hope this is the case here now
