Republican Judge Refuses To Dismiss Criminal Case Against Rick Perry

It looks like old Tricky Ricky maybe going straight from the Governor’s mansion to the big house.

A Texas judge on Tuesday refused to dismiss a felony abuse-of-power case against former Gov. Rick Perry on constitutional grounds, rejecting the argument that Perry was acting within his rights as chief executive of America's second-most populous state when he carried out a veto threat.
The decision by District Judge Bert Richardson, who like Perry is a Republican,

Tricky Ricky

WOW ! 10 days after this posting and all we hear from the "usual suspects" on the FFA is the sound of crickets chirping !

Don't the dunderheads who tune into scaremongers on AM radio and watch the paid shills on Faux have anything to add to this topic ?

Rick Perry......wasn't he the one who was going to eliminate (if he became President) the Dept of Commerce, the Dept of Education, and the Dept of ........ummm........uh...............well.............sorry, I can't seem to remember the 3rd one !

I think the LVA conservatives just reflect the mindset of the conservative movement at any given moment. Most of Ricky's supporters in the conservative media have quietly slunk off too hoping nobody noticed they use to defend the guy or associate with him. Now they hardly knew him at all.
I guess it never occurred to either of you chowder heads that if the case was dismissed, it would have been slammed as a partisan move by a Republican judge. Let the BS case run its course.

DonDiego concurs.

If any one is interested ABC News presented a brief review of the matters at issue in this 18 August 2014
report.
"Texas Gov. Rick Perry was indicted on two felony charges following his veto of state funding for the Travis County District Attorney’s Office — a public integrity unit led by a Democratic lawyer convicted of driving drunk."

So the issue is can the Governor veto funding for an office based upon misbehavior of the office's boss.

[It is quite easy to find reports biased on either side of this matter, but the ABC News report presents the facts pretty straight.]

DonDiego has no serious interest in the matter. He does not reside in the State of Texas anymore. He has no personal, political, or other relationship to the Governor or Ms. Lehmberg. He has no intention to support or oppose the Governor's action. As always poor old DonDiego does support enforcing whatever laws are on the books. His only position is to let the case run it's course.
Boiler agrees with what Donny writes here.

Unlike Ferguson protestors, Republicans are watching from a distance and letting the wheels of justice turn.

I haven't seen any signs saying "Drunk Democrat - Don't Defund"..... Hey maybe this is a money making opportunity!
