Like i said, facts matter to sane people. The above post is fact free.

Are you denying that the current US debt is 19T? When Obama took office it was roughly 9T? Dispute those facts.

I still remember his promise of cutting the deficit in half and if he didn't, vote him out after 4 yrs. Instead his deficit quickly shot up to 1.5T.

People who don't know the difference between the national debt and the deficit really shouldn't comment on such things.

Oh I absolutely know the difference, do you? I'm not sure you do. You're good at making charts, can you not interpret this one correctly?

The 2009 budget was passed by the democratic congress. Obama doubled down when he took office with the stimulus bill. The democrats had plenty of time to reduce spending in 09 but chose not to. Therefore the 09 deficit is obama's. the debt when he took office was $10t. It will be almost $19t when he leaves. He & the democrats have fought every item that was proposed to be cut. Remember when he said he was going to go thru the budget line by line & cut waste?

Liberals love to twist the truth and blame 2009 debt on Bush, but there was one person on Earth who could have reduced this debt and I'll give you a hint....................it wasn't Bush.

Democrats ended the $10 billion/week WMD hunt in Iraq. And both Boilerman and Hoops's had to be dragged kicking and screaming. I believe they were shouting something like "Obama is surrendering to the terrorists".

Democrats also partially rolled back some of the Bush tax cuts which were responsible for over 4 trillion in debt. And Hoops/Boilerman had to be dragged kicking and screaming from that one too. I believe they were shouting something like "Obama is spreading the wealth around !"

So in closing - People who support budget busting policy dont have much street cred complaining about the resulting deficit it causes.

One man on Earth could have cut the debt, and his name is Barack Obama. Of course all those shovel ready jobs needed to be filled.

Yeah - he addressed the economic collapse dumped on his lap by people who didn't believe in regulating banks and sparked 7 years of job growth and economic expanision.

Boilerman had to be dragged kicking and screaming into that too....and has since cheered Republicans for shutting down the government
So here's the big question for our deficit hawks on the board:
The budget busting Bush tax cuts are set to expire at the end of this year. Do you support the fiscally responsible policy of letting them expire? Or do you demand we reinstate them with the same budget busting consequences they've had from day one?

I support the former. Where does Boilerman, Hoops, <other faux deficit hawks> stand?
I suggest that the federal govt reduce spending by 1% per year until the budget is balanced.

For example a dept that spend $100 in 2015 will spend in $99 in 16 & $98 in 17.

Surely each govt agency can find 1% to cut
Somehow an increase is a decrease. It must be that "new math".

Boiler again posts a chart which shows spending as a percentage of GDP since 1960 for military spending, and federal giveaway spending. Would PJ be kind enough to explain why they have both increased under Obama?
