Resort fee and hotel idea

First, resort fees are getting out of hand.

IF a major resort decided to offer NO resort fee IF your play at hotel equals 4 hours a day - would you stay there and gamble ?

Just giving ideas to Cosmo and SLS to try and get them more gamblers.

Also, what is the resort fee tipping point. IF MGM says their resort fee will be an even $40.00 per night, would you still stay at their properties or gamble there ?

I am at my limit with the $32.48. When I see room offers for $25.00 per night and a resort fee of $32.00 - I am tapping OUT.

What is your resort fee limit ?

$35.00
$40.00
$50.00

considering you get NOTHING for it.
Most everyone can Tether their phone internet (or create hotspot) -
Who exercises in VEGAS ????
Free Paper ???? - read your phone app

I'd say if you are new Hotel i.e. ALON, SLS - I'd start by saying guests get free WIFI.
My ripoff "resort" fee limit is $0.00. That's right, zero.
Yes, I am moving over to the Marriott Grand Châteaux.
As most, I've disliked resort fees ever since Station casinos started an "energy surcharge" way back when. They are a fact of life though and I'm sure hotels need them to make the room part of the operation profitable these days. Gone are the days where they can "give" you the room and make it up in the casino because we just don't gamble like we used to. If you do, you can get an adjustment at checkout. I don't look ay resort fees themselves. I look at the total of the room rate and RF combined to see if it's a good deal for me. For my last trip in June the Golden Gate showed a rate of $15 plus their $20 RF. I wanted to try them as I'd never stayed there, but the only thing that stopped me were reports of paper thin walls and truck noise in the morning. To me it wasn't room rate plus RF, it was just $35 a night.

Good Luck!

If you gamble 4 hours a day, the room is likely getting comped. No need to worry about resort fees.
Not necessarily true about gambling four hours and no resort fees. I generally get comped rooms from CET. As a former Platinum level, resort fees USED to be comped as well but no more. Luckily, this year I made Diamond, so the resort fee is not an issue until March 2017. I had to pay the fee twice.

Believe me, the staff hates it as well. They hear complaints all the time.

Why not just be upfront and raise the toom rates?

Why not just add the room price + resort fee together and determine if that is a fair amount for the room you desire?

There are no surprises when you pay one price.

- Some folks do not take the time to read the fine print and see the resort fees that are mentioned; inevitably somebody was/will be caught off guard by the resort fees

- Some folks do not like paying twice (initial payment and then an additional at the hotel in some instances)

- Some folks are offered a comp room and still have to pay resort fees ( example is gold or platinum card holders with CET), this can irritate a gambler at check in and might effect his/her decision on how much to play

- Resort fees are thought of in a similiar light with 6-5 Blackjack, why not set one price and stop pissing people off?
My tipping point is $100 a night. I want to keep under that for a total, room + tax + fees. I'm not concerned with the individual terms.
As long as people keep paying these "ripoff" resort fees the gouging casinos will keep charging them. Some people have more money than brains.
