Resort Fees

Boiler quit talking like DonDiego, your threads read silly to me when you do it. He has copyright and you keep trying to do it.
Ray, first the name is Ric not Joe. Second, I addressed the honesty point in both posts. I'll give you an analogy. If you see a car advertised on tv for $20K, you know you're going to pay more before you leave the showroom. In this day and age you know the majority of hotels charge RFs, so it shouldn't be a surprise. If you have any question just check their website. When this all started things were different, but today they either include it in the list of charges when booking or state that "the above charges do not include xxx RF. Either way you shouldn't be in the dark. At that point you can click to book or not, it's up to you.

Good Luck!
Ric at Joes
And at the risk of being redundant, my surprise, and warning to anyone adding paid nights with comped nights, is to understand that the resort fee will be applied to EVERY night, including the comped nights.

Given the updates in News of the Day, I fear that comped nights will be assessed the RF regardless. Still, that comped room would cost you at the most a $35 (+ tax) per night, which ain't that bad in a high end Strip hotel. You can't get a room in a nice hotel (Marriott, Embassy Suites, etc.) anywhere else for that price.

Disclaimer: I don't advocate Resort Fees, just pointing the better angle of the worst of it.

Here's what everyone at the hotel should do then. At 2:00, everyone in the hotel should go the the fitness center ( which included in the Resort Fee) and DEMAND use of the facility. When you can't get in DEMAND your money back. If this was done everyday for a few months, they might get the message. (Yeah right).

Ray

If you can convince all of them to stop the resort fees, then I'm confident that the balance will stop the resort fees. You can't, so they won't.

At the risk of being redundant, I'll again state my position on resort fees. While I dislike the concept of a mandatory fee, not utilizing this tactic puts casino hotels at a marketing disadvantage. They won't even get a look online by some folks if they don't have the cheap "teaser rate". That being said, the fees are likely with us for some time.

The angst that these add on fees brings to some people confuses Boiler. Why does anyone really care if the room costs $150, or $125 + $25? Please don't answer as it will only confuse me further.

If none of them did this, none of them would be at a disadvantage then would they?????

Ray

If I sound half as intelligent is DonDiego, I'll consider that a compliment.

Most are smart enough to add 2 = 2, yet some aren't.

Liondownnow fears that Boiler does not understand. Liondownnow opines that Boiler is only 5% of a DonDiego much lower than Boiler suspects. Boiler should refrain from stealing DonDiego style writing and return to his previous scribe. Liondownnow presents this graph as proof to Boiler.

I think most ARE smart enough to add 2+2. I think the anger and frustration is in the silliness of it all. for example when the room rate is lower than the resort fee. It DOES happen. I have seen it at the D and the Golden Gate. room = $17 resort fee = $20. so all together $37 + tax is not a bad deal, but now doesn't that just look absurd? are the "perks" that I am getting worth more than the room itself? HELL NO! STOP THE MADNESS ALREADY!!
