Resort Fees

teach8: I am unsure why I continually get two comp nights a quarter from Cosmopolitan, but it is an insanely cool place to stay & there are no resort fees with comps. I have spent MAYBE $500 in slot play over three visits & offers keep coming, including free concert tix every month. They did change me to a "regular" room this time instead of the one I got before, which was 650 sq ft w/balcony. Now it is only 450 sq ft. lol I can upgrade for $30 a night & the view may be worth it, as you face Bellagio fountains.

I am only a Gold this year, and just booked w/Bally's. $24 a day resort fee. I know a lot of LVAers get multiple offers & double book sometimes to take advantage of other freebies that come w/room offers. Maybe hotels are using resort fees to discourage that? It kills me that I will be moving after a fee free two night comp @ Cosmo to Bally's & paying but I won't have a car & will save on cab fare w/Bally's location.

Dr. Milled: You probably run a lot more money through the casino than I do, but would you be kind enough to share your process of getting them not to charge the fees when you stay? I have asked every time I have run into it & have been denied at a variety of different properties.

I would rather stay at Wynn in a large suite for ONLY a $25 resort fee than a standard room in Bally's for zero fees whatsoever.

jhawkgirl- I am not sure why the casinos don't charge me a resort fee with my complimentary rooms. I do play a lot of video poker and have been coming to Vegas for over 25 years. Possibly the casinos have read my feelings about the ripoff resort fees and have decided they would rather have me as a customer than lose my business. FYI- I don't have any desire to stay/play on the strip. Everything is overly expensive and the rowdy masses I can do without. I get offers and stay at the Silverton, the Boyd and Station properties. If any of these properties should attempt to charge me the ripoff resort fee they would lose my business. I don't believe that I have given you a satisfactory answer, sorry about that. I am not sure where you prefer to stay, maybe if you relocate to another property they will waive the ripoff resort fee for you whenever they invite you to stay with them with a future comp.

Boilerman- I get your point. My complaint is that, to me, complimentary means "free" - no charge. If you are getting comp room offers from the Wynn then you are probably giving them plenty of play. If I was you I would feel insulted if they required you to pay the ripoff resort fee. I would let them know my feelings and would tell them to remove the ripoff resort fee or I will take my business elsewhere. This is, of course, my opinion.

I don't believe the Tropicana has any fees.

According to this site Tropican does have a resort fee.

That really does take the biscuit.

How can they charge a resort fee for the pool. its not even open this time a year. The right thing to do would be to take off 10.00 a day when the pool is closed. A comp room should be free, thats what a comp room is. This fee is a joke. What they are saying is spend thousands in our casino and we will treat you like shit. We are all fools for paying it.
