I read a random review about El Dorado and was excited to try it and then within two weeks and saw their name no less than a dozen times, so makes me feel they are paying for press. That being said, a good friend who is a foodie recommended it, so we will be trying it soon.
Used to love sneaking down to Toby Keith's for the fried bologna sandwich, maybe the first two years they were open...then the last 4-5 times we went it was terrible with the food being completely stale, underwhelming and prices raised. We don't go there anymore.
My recent recommends would be the Viva Arepas on the blvd/Oakey. My husband and I also got addicted to Culinary Dropout happy hour at Hard Rock weekly for a good few months. And again oddly, Palm's kept sending me 15 bucks and I would go get a cheesesteak at Nathan's food court. I used to love the man vs food chicken benedict at hash house a gogo at the m...haven't tried the other locations though. My husband also really like this seafood pasta that was half price for us at tropicana steakhouse...it made it 26 dollars and had tons of seafood including a lobster tail on top. The 1.50 locals slice of pizza at trop too is tasty for tiding you over, but they don't stay open very late.
Anyone have any other new specials, happy hours or fave spots.
