Restaurants and food you miss

Just read another post and saw the old egg from David Burke. I miss that place and the 'angry lobster" he had.

What restaurants and food do you miss in Vegas ?

Roberta's at the El Cortez.They had twin lobster tails for $46 bucks,which is pretty cheap for a good lobster dinner.Seems like the old "loss leaders" are not part of the new breed of ceo's vocabulary.

Oops! One more.There used to be a Winchell's donut shop on Boulder Highway,just down the street from Sam's Town that had great cinnamon rolls.

I liked the tapas place that used to be in the dome of the Plaza....it was much better than Oscar's

And How about the Strawberry shortcake at the Westward Ho?

Commander's Palace with the Prix Fixe lunch & 25 cent martinis.

Augustus Cafe at Caesars.
The Oscar Benedict at Society Cafe (Wynn).

Tree House café at the old Maxim, Bagel and hash browns for $1.99 , Steak special for $4.99 Both a deal and tasted great. We stated there in the early 90's I think it was $440 for a week with non stop flights from Buffalo NY. They also gave you a coupon that was good for drinks from both bars at no charge for your whole stay. We always went to the small pool on the 2nd floor and it had no shade at all, it felt like you were sitting in a frying pan. We now stay at the MGM and will be out again in Sept for our 35th trip. Never had a bad time in Vegas !!!!!!

I'm with Alan missing Commander's Palace lunch prix fixe and 25 cent martinis. Great prices and some of the best food in all of Vegas.

I also mourn Rosemary's prix fixe lunch. Hugo's BBQ shrimp, crispy leg of duck confit over French lentils and any number of the desserts all for $25.

I'm trying to remember where I saw a picture of David Burke's old egg.
