Restaurants and food you miss

Victoria's at the Barbary Coast/Bill's gambling Hall....loved their ham steak breakfast special. Roberta's (with the LVA coupon) and the burnt ends dinner at the Rub BBQ at the Rio.

And How about the Strawberry shortcake at the Westward Ho?

1. Firefly.
2. Ho Dog & Strawberry shortcake.

That;s one helluva wiener!

Not sure what purpose the nostalgia serves in this topic except mourning.

I miss the original happy hour platter at Pink Taco....ahh, those mashed potato taquito things and those sweet corn masa things, yummo. Hate the new steak and potato wedge things. Just a blob of more now. Ate the little chicken minis the other day though and were better.

Speaking of sangria, miss cafe baba reba at fashion show....so much better than firefly, but I would have taken the fremont location of firefly as a consolation prize. Try Barecelonas in the southwest, inconvenient for most, but pretty good sangria and delicious goat cheese ball things and food in general.

Miss the M Hash House a gogo, loved that location and food, tried it twice at fremont and not the same.

Now you have to say what you replaced your faves with......

And how can I forget The Range at Harrahs...my favorite high end steak house. Boo on that!

Also loved the cheese platter with wine at the Whiskey at GVR when they first opened and sitting pool side.

I don't know your age, but you will find that the older you get, memories and nostalgia are good things, allow you realize the value of things in your life. You miss them, but you feel somehow special that you got to experience them.

Simon Restaurant and Lounge at Palms Place. Best french toast I've ever had.

Unfortunately chef/owner Kerry Simon has MS and had to shut down two of his restaurants.
lol, I was just kidding about the nostalgia, I am 39, but am an old soul and nostalgic, therefore sad about these things....need a new couch, but can't bring myself to replace my 12 year old couch and my couch before that I had to leave in the move and had it for the 8 years I owned that house (I have good taste in couches) ...my truck is 13 years old and I did have to replace my main car because we travel a lot because it was 13 years old. haha, that is why I had to replace my nostalgia with new happy things. I also make my childhood coney dogs because in my small towns, we only have dairy bars to eat at .....I made myself homemade coney dogs all week. It is summer pool season, you know

As for the french toast, I have only had it a few times because I think it is sunday's only, but at Cheesecake Factory they had this french toast/monte cristo stuff...omg, so good....I recommend.

I got to see the Stardust implosion and glad that I got to visit before old vegas was gone....I grew up with my grandpa and his pearl snap button shirts and half zippered boots watching westerns...is that nostalgia for you I was drawn to vegas and the desert probably from westerns. Felt a strong connection the very first time I stepped foot here...found home.
Let the couch go. Forkie will take it off your hands and make a new leisure suit from it.
It's leather, they will make hot pants.
Margarita's in the New Frontier Hotel Casino. Favorite mexican food north of the Rio Grande!

not sure if they every re-located or just disappeared completely after they demolished the Frontier.

NO PLEASE - I don't want to see Forky in hot pants!

I miss Robertas, and the Café at the Barbary Coast - heck I miss the Barbary coast.

I also miss the $1 foot long dogs at slots of fun with Kraut or Chili ---- or both if you are adventuresome!
