Rio Las Vegas questions

I'll be staying at Rio Las Vegas in a couple of weeks and wanted to know the layout so I won't need to do excessive walking (emphasis on excessive walking). I've been inside the casino before but never stayed in the hotel at Rio. I have been to the Carnival buffet and will probably eat there as well.

1) Is the hotel registration near the Carnival buffet and should I park near the Carnival buffet, remember that I want to keep from walking excessively. Once I parked on the opposite side of the Carnival buffet (not knowing the layout) in order to go to the Carnival buffet and had to walk clear across the entire casino to get to the Carnival buffet. That was my 1st time there and that walk wore me out even though I was maybe 45 years old at the time (I'm 50).

2) I noticed Rio has 2 towers. Which tower is closest to the hotel registration? Again I hope not to have to walk so much. That place is huge compared to downtown where I normally stay.

3) I'm a lowly gold tier, the room was $0 but being assessed the $29 resort fee which I'm okay with so they may assign me a room which may be the furthest away. I don't care about a view or high floor, I just want something close so as not to do so much walking. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
As I recall, the towers are pretty much equidistant from the desk.
I always valet, specifically to avoid having to walk long distances. The two garages are far from anything.
For several years, I was bothered by plantar fasciitis and was restricted in my walking.
I always mentioned it at check in and almost always was accommodated.
Out of curiosity, is that $29 plus tax or all in?
If you self park, you will be walking either way; using the valet will save you a lot of walking. The drop off for the valet is at the main entrance; walk through the doors and the registration desk will be about 50 feet on your left as you enter the casino. The parking garages are on either end of the property. The east ramp: you take the escalator down to the casino level and walk about 2/3 of the way through the casino to get to the registration desk. The west ramp is located behind the casino; a shorter walk, but not by much. I would ask for a room in the Ipanema tower which should be closer to the buffet, registration and main casino area. I think the rooms are nicer in that tower than the Masquerade tower.

If self parking, park nearest the buffet (west side). The walk is a little shorter.
Stay in the Ipanema Tower, this is the closest tower to check in and also nearest the buffet.
Billryan the total was $33 per night, they tax the resort fee as well.
Yikes.
If you have trouble walking, talk to reservations or the check in clerk. They can be very helpful if you explain it is a medical issue.
Just call for a wheel chair. Sorry.

I know that mobility can be an issue on the strip.ALL of the sidewalks have a 20* camber and it sucks!
Gee,I have to walk all the way over THERE?
If you are in pain, there is no fun for you at all!

Let the staff help you around.
I did 'Vegas and Reno in a wheelchair because of a broken tib/fib. I did not cancel my flights.
If you can't get around with out a lot of effort, you can't have much fun.
Yeah,I had crutches, but they were a lot of work.

I hopped on the plane(on my left leg) and went!
Playing craps from a wheelchair is great,if you can get your arm over the rail.
You won't have to. Stash the 'chair and play your games.
The casino will be happy to accommodate and they have really big security people.
Like I posted B-4,I got carried 14 isles down to the front row seats in one our shows! BIG dude!

Change casinos?
Get a new chair.
The idea is to have some fun!

Don't think that people in a 'chair are crippled/disabled.
It's simply the fact that it's too painful for you to walk a long way.
They will be happy to accommodate you to win your loyalty.
$33 for a ripoff "resort" fee, asinine.
