RIP EUGENE POLLEY

Eugene Polley, inventor of the first TV remote control died on Sunday 20 May 2012. He was 96 years old.

"Polley was proud of his invention even late in life." He showed visitors at his assisted-living apartment his original Flash-Matic and how it had evolved into the technology of today. "He was a proud owner of a flat-screen TV and modern remote," Taylor said. "He always kept his original remote control with him."

I know arshaleign (aka forkush) is one. Who's the other?

Oh, RIP Mr Polley.
The pic clearly shows why a remote is commonly called a zapper. Very Buck Rogers'ish.

Jimmy Kimmel (his real name) said Mr. Polley was buried in his couch cushions.
While this man's invention was ingenious, television advertisers did not like him.
