RIP Living Social

Living Social shut it's doors this week. I don't know if any of you tried this service, but I saved thousands with them over the last decade. I remember the first time I used it, a coupon for $2 off a Heineken at a local bar. The best deal I got was 40% off for a dinner for eight at a NY Steakhouse. Coupon clearly stated good for up to $250, but the place honored it for the whole bill. My last purchase was six full service car washes for $35.
GroupOn is absorbing them and will honor the purchases made before they went kaput.
RIP to an interesting experiment in social retailing.

I was wondering why I wasn't getting emails from them any more. I,also, had gotten some fabulous deals. I hope Groupon stays around, as we're going to need some discounts for parking at the airport next month.

Groupon announced in October 2016 that they were purchasing Living Social. The Living Social website is active as of right now and you can still make purchases from it.

As of today, the company is gone, but the brand lives on as part of Groupon.

As of 3/02 I am still getting email offers.
