I don't care if Shatner attended his friend's funeral. I personally avoid funerals and only attend them out of respect for the living. That being said, Shatner's fundraiser was in West Palm and there are several early morning flights that would have arrived LAX before noon. Maybe Spock lives elsewhere.

I feel bad for the criticism that Shatner has gone through. Nimoy died on Friday and was to be buried on Sunday. Shatner was back east on a charity fund raising event with other celebrities and originally apologized that he wasn't going to be able to make the funeral.
This is common with people who are jewish. Their funerals are held very shortly after death. I didn't realize Nimoy was jewish but got several hits when looking him up on Google.
