Rob Singer accepts the challenge.

"I'll win a few hundred dollars in the process because although I prefer better, I can easily beat a bad paytable."
& x 2

the drama continues . . .
This, Im afraid, is where interpretation of what is written differs from his actual practice. Yes, he can beat a bad paytable by scoring a big win, and then he leaves. Its just too bad that Singer can't explain for himself here. I followed what Singer has said on his website, I read his book and columns, saw lots of stuff on the web. Over the long run he cannot beat a bad paytable. And over the long run he says even an AP is only going to grind out a small win. He's made a value judgment which actually fits most of us who are not long term players.

He has played his so-called system for around 10 years now and over 300 sessions. Seems he has already played as much or more than most players do in their lives. Another example of what Singer says is different than what he does.

Arc, again you are missing the point. Singer doesnt care how many hands or how long he plays. he plays until he has a net win of $2500. If he gets a royal on a $1 game in the first five minutes of play, his "system" tells him to leave.

A lot of Singer's so-called system is nothing more than "money management of wins." And there is a lot to be said for that. He gets up and leaves when he hits his goal. How can you argue with that??

His "special plays" are there to improve his chances for a big win so he doesn't have to suffer the grind.

Look at Dancer's new column:

"My game of choice was going to be two hours on 25¢ Hundred Play 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%). Playing $100,000 costs $830 in equity, offset by $250 in free play, adding up to $580 in the hole." And then he writes: "My expected machine loss of $830 on the machine, however, turned out to be $8,470."

Oh yeah, advantage play is really great.

edited to add:

Arc, let me ask you: how many times have you been ahead, but didnt cash out and kept playing only to be a net loser on the session? Would you be better off today had you cashed out at a "set win goal" and come back another day with those wins in the bank?

I dont know about you,but there must have been a hundred times in my life that had I quit when I was up a couple of thousand I would be much better off today on my total win/loss record.
Quit when you're up $2000 or down $10000 is surely a losing strategy.

What do you care? You are making money hand over fist right?
My wife wants to go to Hawaii for our anniversary in 2012. I've never been there. Where are you staying?
I haven't seen TomDoug since Rob Singer left for Hawaii a week ago. Welcome back.
tomdoug can't possibly be Rob Singer because on Alan Mendelson's board he posted this:

Since I'm not allowed to post on LVA and I promised the owner I would never use an alias there--and I NEVER have regardless of all the paranoia floating around that anyone who agrees with even 10% of what I espouse has to be me....

LMAO what a piece of work.
