Rock of Ages, the movie is coming out in a couple of weeks. Is this base off the play that had a short life at the Paris a few year back? I cant remember the name of the play.
Nope - That was "We Will Rock you", featuring the music of Queen - originally a London/West End musical. "Rock Of Ages" is based on the Broadway musical with music from 80's bands like Journey, Styx, Twisted Sister, & Bon Jovi. BTW - the stage version of "Rock Of Ages" has now been announced for Las Vegas - opening at the Venetian starting in December.
It has been running for a few years on Broadway as well as nationally.
If you like that brand of music the play is excellent. It is very clever on how the writers synched the lyrics to the dialogue of the play. I think it comes off better as a live show and I can't see Tom Cruise singing or as the lead.
