Rookie Guide to Vegas

Hey guys, so I'm a young guy planning my first trip to Vegas soon and was looking for some tips. Comedians Willie Barcena and Daryl Wright gave a really great and hilarious guide for any one planning their first trips on willie's podcast, "Gotta be Honest". You can check it out here Everyone should give that a listen, I think we all can appreciate it. But also I was wondering if anyone any of you vegas vets else had any advice for a rookie like myself.
When are you going and where are you staying? Those are a good starting point for advice here which is plenty from the folks here. Or enjoy the spam sandwich, 'cause I ain;t clicking on your link so I have no idea if you're serious.

no i was serious. i'm going the weekend after memorial weekend and staying at the mgm. that podcast actually is hilarious and i was looking for similar advice to what they were giving out, not just the typical bs.
Although I don't want to listen to the podcast, I will say this to LV Rookies:

01). Bring comfortable walking shoes because you're likely to end up doing a lot more walking than you think. Walks among and between casinos (especially on the Strip) can be long;

02). Keep well hydrated with water. Las Vegas has a dry desert climate and heat (it should be pretty warm after Memorial Day) and Alcohol do not mix well. So at the very least if you're going to drink alcohol, switch off with water;

03). Some Clubs and Restaurants might have a Dress Code, so check into that;

04). The Strip tends to have higher prices for at least rooms and food so you do have other choices for less expensive stuff if you like (like going Downtown to Fremont Street);

05). Get your hands on the "Members' Rewards Book" And Online Coupons that come with a subscription to Anthony Curtis' Las Vegas Advisor Newsletter as well as the current 2013 Edition of the American Casino Guide book plus any Freebie magazines that you can get your hands on (such as "24/7 Vegas," "Vegas2Go," "Vegas Values Coupon Booklet," and "Today In Las Vegas") where you can find good information about LV as well as coupons for discounted food, shows and other things;

and 06). If you haven't learned to play casino games well, get some good books and computer programs and take the time and effort to practice since it will at the very least increase your chances of being able to play for a longer period of time. And don't think that game rules and pay schedules for machines are the same everywhere. They can actually differ a lot and if you end up with bad paying stuff, it can become quite costly!

Everything RT just said especially #4, gotta hit Fremont street, it's a lot of fun and cheaper than the overpriced strip. The only comedy I can recommend is mac king( afternoon show at harrahs and cheap to free), and the hypnotist guy at planet hollywood, sorry name escapes me right now. For a over the top show, KA at MGM is pretty awesome love at mirage is really cool. You would really have to provide more info for more help/advice/suggestions, there's a ton of knowledge here, just ask.
