Rosemary's Restaurant has closed

I've been to the Texas De Brazil in Memphis twice and enjoyed it both times. For the money you spend, you could go to many steak places for the same price, but if you like a variety of things I think it's worth it. Their salad bar (which I didn't indulge in) is pretty amazing. The waiter was pretty pushy about selling alcohol, which turned me off, but the guys walking around with the skewers were great. If they didn't have well done cuts, it didn't take long for someone to show up with some. Overall it's a fun experience for a group of guys. I don't see taking the wife there ever.

By comparison, I've been to Fogo de Chao in Chicago twice, but I liked Texas de Brazil much better. Prices were pretty similar.

Reason # 492 as to why I don't put much stock in the reviews on trip advisor. On the commercial front, I tend to refer to Zagat followed by Wine Spectator. My rationale is that if they have a good wine list, they'd likely have good food. On the boards, both ken2v and westie are well respected and I value their opinions.

Trip Advisor -- for those who missed the Las Vegas Review Journal's "Readers Choices." lol

Rosemary's was my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas.I'm very disappointed.
I was planning to go there in Sept when I am in Las Vegas again.

In my opinion,Trip Advisor ratings are a joke! Not sure how they compile their ratings but you cannot take anything on that website seriously.
Man, I've NEVER been able to figure out the obsession with Roy's. Though I will say his new taverna in Princeville rocks it. Different form/format than "his" cookie-cutter approach to pan-Asian/Hawai'ian.

While fedomalley might appear to be on drugs in one regard, the little tidbit about tripadvisor is spot on. Remember to check out editor v. reader lists in papers' annual best-of roundups. The latter savants will serve up such "bests" as Olive Garden, Outback, Tony Roma's and other such swill.

I haven't seen Ken2V post for quite some time now. I don't think he was banned from this board, because he has written a book (or at least a guide) for LVA. I hope all is okay with him.

And I missed you, too, homer. Appreciate the wishes. Not banned. All is well. Took a hiatus from this place for about half a year and still only pop over here into the cesspool every couple weeks.

The season's almost here!!!!!!! Hope we avoid going all SC/OSU with the NCAA!! Hayden and Lane Violation appear to have SC on the right road. Good to see. Too bad they didn't nuke that idiot Garrett earlier.
Rosemary's closing is a real suck-a-thon. But they're not the only (essentially) homegrown game in town. Vintner Grill, Todd's Unique, Table 34 (formerly Wild Sage Cafe), Marche Bacchus ... Before he got all famous (and bankrupt) at Palms and Monte Carlo, Andre Rochat operated out of a cool setting in old Vegas (sadly now gone).

There's far far more to Vegas eating than Cheesecake Factory, buffets, TV chefs and high-ticket chain steakeries.

Your guy jumped ship just in time. Mine was caught with his hands still IN the cookie jar.

So what's your Vegas top 10 list?
What are you talking about? Jumped ship?
