Ruh-Roh ! Credit Card Thieves Target Silver Sevens and Primm !

Looks like Affinity Gaming has a huge problem also.

Affinity Gaming
I just love how when this company, Affinity Gaming, and Target get hacked that they "warn" their customers to take "appropriate action" regarding their credit cards. Suddenly their problem is now the credit card holders problem. Totally inexcusable- I foresee many legal issues and lawsuits forthcoming.

Just exactly what would you like them to do? I thought Target handled it quite well actually, they informed the public appropriately, offered a 10% discount to all shoppers and the CEO had a pretty good public apology.

This wasn't the first major security breach of a company(or govt. agency) and it sure ain't gonna be the last. I don't see much more that they could have done, do you?

What should they do you ask?. They should pay ALL illegal charges that the credit card holders accrue, that is what they should do. Got it?

Guess I should use cash via Pony Express to renew my LVA paidside subscription.

I dont believe people are being held responsible for any charges assuming people are smart enough to contact their bank and let them know you shopped at target during the affected dates.

My wife did and the first the bank said before she even said a word was that they were aware of the problem, not to worrythey were staying on top of the situation. My wife went ahead and cancelled her card anyway, just because.

I don't understand what thrill these hackers get from potentially ruining peoples lives.

For some it's a game or challange. For some its absolutely a for profit deal, and Im sure there are some who are just downright malicious.
