Sahara final night memorial chips

It looks like the Sahara may offer final night memorial chips on their last day of business. They are already trying to limit the sale of $1 chips to 2 per customer. Higher denominations are not restricted.

Just go sit at a $1 BJ table at that dive and get all the $1 chips you want. After the dealer gives you 10 or 20 of them, play 1 hand and get up and leave, they can not force you to color up. Last week I was there (ugh) I played for awhile at a $5 min table, I was up about $70, the girl was about to shuffle so I asked her to color me up, she said I will after I shuffle, I said I'd rather you do it now before you start to shuffle. She takes the cards out to start the shuffle, I pick up my chips to leave, she says wait I have to color you up, I told her you had your chance, she said I couldn't leave with all those reds, I told her if she didn't like it she could either try and stop me or she should have colored me up when I asked her too.

Easy game if you want $1 chips.

I believe the poker room uses $1.00 chips in many of their games. Should be easy to get them there. A rack or more anyway if they think you're gonna play.

Actually that isn't the case anymore. With the Sahara closing, everybody is coming in to pick up some chips for posterity. All tables everywhere are limiting their $1 chips going out. I was at the craps table a little over 2 weeks ago. I asked for singles (I wanted souvenir chips too) and they only gave me $5 in dollar chips. They said that there is a rush on $1 chips so are limiting the number. It was okay with me, I kept playing and doing okay, eventually cashed out with $80 and another $20 in dollar chips, one was a $5 chip.

While I was playing 3 people came in and dropped $5 down, they wanted chips. The pit crew told them to go to the cashier if they wanted chips as they were instructed to not give out chips to non players. The pit crew also told me to ask the tables if I wanted new chips but when I asked they also directed me to the cashier.

As others have said, you can always just go to a table and drop $40 down and ask for singles, they have to at least give you 5 dollar chips. If you just drop a $5 for chips they might not give you chips, just let you play with money on the table.

I guess they are noticing a big rush in chip collecting and so are trying to limit the dollar chips going out. But then it might be good for them, they are making money doing nothing. maybe they should produce more $1 chips so they can make more money.

As mentioned they're limiting the $1 chips. If you buy in $40 at the $1 table you will get $35 in $5 chips and $5 1 in dollar chips. I guess if someone really wants $1 chips they could just start to table hop to collect more and then buy an additional $1 chips at the cage. As for people who can't make it to Sahara before it closes there is already a bunch of the $1 chips on Ebay. If you really want one that will probably be the route most will have to go.

For me, I regret that I never rode the little roller-coaster there. Every time we came to Vegas I always intended to ride it, but something always came up...or I forgot....or it was too hot...or whatever. Bummer.
