Sahara Hotel to Close

Wow. We just had a thread on what hotel was predicted to close next. I guessed the Riviera or Sahara. I can see it being imploded in the near future, but I can't see a new hotel going up any time soon.
I just saw this on Cheapo Vegas. This is not shocking to me, but I hate to see it close. Another legendary casino will now be gone. I will miss the low limit tables and how empty it was there. It was always a nice fairly quiet place to go on the strip.
aw, i hate to see it close. i havent been a regular customer since i found a ballgag left in my room but i did make regular stops there to visit my favorite moolah machine and to do the freeplay swipe. they are also the last hold out for barkin bucks machines.

It's a shame. I hate to see the "Old Vegas" disappearing little by little each year. I loved the old themed hotel and casinos. I hate all the glass and metal up and down the strip. Athough the are beautiful places I really miss seeing the old Boardwalk, the Stardust, the old Aladdin, the Sands, and etc. on the strip.
wait a minute, jenaphir.....do you mean Bow wow bucks? the one with the cute beagle on it? (cute beagle is a redundancy, I know) They don't have that one at the 4Q anymore?

As for the Sahara, I enjoyed the casino in 2009. 2010, not really so much. I won't miss it.
It's sad, I agree. I have memories of the time we stayed there many years ago. And my parents used to stay there back in the "old days" when I was too young to go to Vegas.
nope! barkin bucks. its an old old old machine. the dog is so cute. he is a mutt. when you get the bonus, you pick a family member to play with him. if he plays back, you get a big bonus. but if he pees or vomits, you do not.

Present ownership says it will take time and figure out how to redevelop it, but let's get serious. How could you realistically put any appreciable amount of money into redeveloping in the economy. Ain't gonna happen, at least not in the near future. Wish I would of stayed there before it closes.

Good Luck!

I completely agree with you.
