Sahara Hotel to Close

Sad sad sad! I knew that on my last trip I should have went an the visted the old lady. I bet they are going to blow her up and not rebuild and it will be just like the Frontier and the old Stardust. Nothing there.

For some reason that song Dust in the Wind is coming to my mind.

I could turn that joint around if they let me take it nudist. Sahara Bahara.

Its been coming for a long time. Too bad. The North End of the strip is starting to look like a 3rd world country.

The bow wow bucks is still there. I saw it when I was there two weeks ago. I think there are two machines in there.

That is a huge property. Can't imagine they will implode it. It's not like more parking space is needed for the Riviera or Bonanza Gift Shop.

Sad to see the Sahara go before the Riv. I have a lot of fond memories at the Sahara. Will the monorail still go there?

I too am going to miss it. It is one of my favorite casinos to visit.

Let me introduce my self. Going by the name Malasuerte but my name is Manny. I have been reading the free side for years and have never posted a comment. I go to Vegas about 3 times a year and live in So Cal. I had to comment on the closing of the Sahara because its just not a complete trip if I don't make it there. I will really miss this place. I love the old feel and architecture as well as the bargains! I have about 20 of those little shot glasses in my liquor cabinet. A few years ago when they first had dollar BJ it seemed pretty lively but the last time I was there (last Dec) it wasnt that busy. I did see some guy blow like 1,500 at the craps table in about 30 minutes. Anyway thanks to all of you for keeping me up on whats happening each week. I am going next weekend (more expensive than usual). Staying at the Golden Nugget with the wife and friends.
