Sam's Town- Day 4

I don't know what happened to the first post on day 4. It disappeared into the night...or in this case....day. I spent two hours typing it out, and even though I copy the report while I'm typing so I don't lose it by accident, once the PC is turned off, you lose the information. That really sucks. I'll try and start from the begining, but I'm getting to go out to breakfast, so I'll have to continue later.

I woke up this morning with a bunch of W2G's on my nightstand and a fistful of dollars. But let me regress.

Today (Tuesday) would be the first day of my tournament. My session started at 10:30 am so I got up at 8:30 am to get ready. Figured I'd catch a fast breakfast at the TGIFridays in the hotel. I didn't think they would take my Gold Card to pay for the meal, but they did. When the waitress gave me the bill, I told her I didn't think this place would wind up making it and would've been closed already. For one thing, they charged for drinks. For another, they didn't have the volume on for all the sporting events. I mean...this is VEGAS BABY....this is a betting town, and who's going to want to watch a game without knowing what was going on when the volume was turned off? Maybe a guy who's wife hates football would join him to have a Bloody Mary in the morning while he watches the game. A local would either be at the sports book to watch the game and collect drink tickets when he made a bet, or be at the sports bar playing VP and get his drinks for free.

Anyway, I make my way over to the tournament area and take my seat for the first session. The machines that are used for the tournaments are Star Spangled Sevens. The highest payoff is to get Red, White and Blue 7's in a row for a 1000 point payout. I swear it used to be 5000 points but they must have loosened up the slots, because I've had sessions in previous tournaments where I never hit the R, W or Blue 7's. But this was not the case this time. I wound up hitting 5 or those suckers and my final score was over 7000 points. Not really a great score and I would have to have two much higher scores to get into the money.

After the session, I went upstairs to check on her and she was out like a light. I decided to let her rest while I would go downstairs to play. Went to the Winchester bar where the .25c progressive royal was sitting around $1500. I went through $40 quickly and decided to switch to dollars. Wound up hitting 4 deuces for a $200 payout. That was a nice start for the day. I left the Winchester bar and headed for the High Limit machines.

My plan was to try and hit the dollars, and then move up to the $2 level or maybe even the $5 level. I wound up losing about $300 and since it was almost 4 pm, I went upstairs to find out what we were doing for dinner. Original plans were to take her sister to Billy Bob's, but her sister canceled so we now had no plans for dinner. She didn't feel like dressing up for BB's and wanted to rest some more. I went into the living room and got online waiting for her to make up her mind. A half hour later when I went to check on her, she told me to go down and play, and bring up a Sbarro pizza when I came back upstairs.

So down I went and headed straight for the Winchester bar. The progressive was now over $1600. I took my seat at the end of the bar. I played .25c DDB and wound up hitting 4 Jacks for a 62.50 payout. I wound up getting to over $100, and I switched to dollars. I started drinking Chivas Rusty Nails. After playing for a while, I wanted to head back to the High Limit machines. But first I went upstairs to make a bed check. Since she was sleeping again I was headed back down alone. I left with over $800 on me....that should be enough.....boy was I wrong. The Rusty Nails were starting to take their toll, especially on a near empty stomach. I headed for the door hoping that Lady Luck would bless me tonight.

To Be continued.
Thanks for taking the time! I look forward to your reports.

WOW,what a great way to leave us hanging . Waking up with a bunch of w2g's and a pile of money, but leave us with"I left with over $800 on me....that should be enough.....boy was I wrong.". Very intriguing LOL

Sorry to leave you hanging but I will continue now. Just finishing my McDonald's breakfast so I can start finishing this TR. I'm just going to put Day 5 in this thread since there wasn't much happening yesterday...Wednesday.

So I'm playing in the HL rooom switching between BP, DDB, and TDBP. But nothing was working. I blew off the money I had on me, then went to the ATM for $700...then $500...and finally $1000. When I got the last $1000, I keep shaking my head wondering what had just took place. Too many Rusty Nails...but that wasn't the real reason. I'm a seasoned gambler and know things can turn around at a moments notice. I left the ATM and headed back to the first machine I had played in the HL area the other day.

I inserted $300 and selected $5 BP. I wanted to start slow and work my way up to DDB ot TDB. Things had better pick up FAST or I was going to be in deep sh*t. And pick up they did as I had a little run of straights, flushes and full houses. But even though it brought me to over $450 it sure wasn't going to make up for the $3000 ....actually $2300 I was stuck. But two beautiful Aces were going to change things fast. NO, not the two I got on the deal, but the "other" two I got on the draw! CALL ATTENDANT!!!!! My first hand pay for the trip. For whatever reason, it took a long time to pay me. But finally they were there counting those Benjamins into the palm of my hand. Boy that felt good. I told them not to go anywhere as I was getting ready to have more of the W2G's before I was done that night. But it better happen fast as Sbarro's closed at midnight and neither one of us had eaten. AND IT DID!!!! Having a little more ammunition under my belt allowed me to switch to DDB where ANY 4OAK was a hand pay. In maybe 5 minutes after I collected the hand pay, I got dealt 3 9's. I KNEW the fourth one would appear....and sure enough it DID on the first card drawn. CALLL ATTENDENT!!! A nice $1250 payout. They paid out faster this time as I had taken good care of them the first time. I started playing again, and with them hardly being out of sight.....I got dealt 3 9's again....and wouldn't you know it.....the fourth one appeared AGAIN!! CALL ATTENDENT!!! They raced back to the machine and one slot person had the nerve to say "we already payed you for that one!" But the supervisor who was next to her said she had seen me play it off. Besides, the fourth nine I had on the previous 4 OAK was in the first position, and this one came in the 3rd position. They were back with my money in no time flat. I had now collected $4500 in less than a half hour of playing time! That was like hitting a dollar royal. HOLY TOLEDO!

After getting paid, I was trying to plot my stategy in my head to figure out the next step. I asked the time and was told it was 11:35 pm.....Sbarro's was going to close in 25 minutes. Screw it, I was going to play some more and this time I would select TDBP as my game. I had visions of hitting the 4 Aces w/kicker for twenty grand...or at least 4 deuces w/kicker for 10 grand. Either one would put me up plenty. But TDBP just wouldn't cooperate with my fantasy and I started going downhill fast. I decide to go back to square one and try to build myself back up by playing BP. And it proved to be the right decision. I wound up hitting 4 9's AGAIN, but this time the CALL ATTENDENT light didn't appear as it was "only" for a $625 payout. I played a few more minutes, and when nothing great was happening...I moved two machines down. This would prove to be a good move. I started with DDB again and again I hit a 4OAK....this time 10's.....I was moving up in the world. CALL ATTENDENT!!! They came with the money and my 4th W2G form. I had now collected $5750 in less than an hour.

I had to pee becaused I was holding it in so long. A slot attendent watched my machine as I headed for the bathroom. I stuck my hand in my pocket and it felt great to feel the "bulge" of those hundred dollar bills. No not that "other" bulge" sillys. Back to the HL area I went and gave the attendent $5 for watching the machine. I slipped back in my TITO that I had cashed out and started playing DDB again. Could there be at least one more 4 OAK in the horizon? If so, I was headed up to bed.

After 5 minutes of staying about even, I hit 4 Kings!!! But WAIT!!! Something was wrong!!! Instead of the CALL ATTENDENT light coming on, the machine was racking up credits. Had I played BP instead of DDB? NO, that wassn't the problem at all.....I was playing dollars instread of $5!! Oh no! What a mistake!!!:<;
So instead of getting another W2G and another $1250 which would put me at $7000, I collected $250. Oh well, what's a thousand dollars among friend. But that was a sign to call it a night. I cashed out almost a thousand dollars and called it a night. And what a night it was. I was now way ahead for the day and about a thousand dollars for the trip.

I'm going to put DAY 5 in this Day 4 report since nothing much happened on Day 5.

Woke up about 8 am and just had to take a look at those W2G's laying on the nightstand just to make sure it wasn't a dream last night. I went to the safe and just had to recount the money I had put there last night. No it was real alright. And there was even the "reserve" $500 that was from my original bankroll. Boy was that a good feeling....make that a GREAT feeling!

As it neared 9 am, I decided to get ready for my final slot tournament session at 10:30 am. While I showered I calculated what place my 17,110 points would put me in the tournament. I figured I might be in the top 30. If I had one more good session of 10,000 points or more, I might get some decent money. I dressed and headed down to the tournament area. They had a room off the tournament area where they had juices, coffee, water and lots of yummy donuts. Even though I hadn't eaten since the previous morning, I passed on everything and headed for the bar to get some coffee and play a little .25c vp.

I played for a while until it was time to report for my last session. I had put in a $20 bill and cashed out the exact same amount. That was going to be the pattern for the day.

I had looked at one of the standings sheets that were on a table, and was almost shocked that I wasn't on the first page. As I flipped the sheet over to page 2, there I was on the first line of the sheet. 68th place????
It waqsn't as bad as it looked because many people were bunched up in the 17,900- 17,000 point area from 40th place down. One good session would at least have to guarantee me at least $50 FSP wouldn't it?

My session was a decent one giving my my highest score of the tournament...9640 points. At 1 pm they would have cake and champagne as well as give out the rewards for the tournament. I would never make it as I felt the best I would do is get $50 FSP. And I was right.

Went back upstairs to see if she was ready. She was, and all she could do was "bitch" that she hadn't eaten in a day or more. We were going to eat at the ES Cannery, but that plan changed when she was having trouble walking, and we opted for TGIFriday's. Even though it was past the breakfast hour, Friday's served breakfast until 4 pm. They gave us a breakfast and regular menu just in case. I decided on steak and eggs and she just had her two eggs and a hamburger patty. The steak was really good as they coated it with their Jack Daniels sauce and gave me a side order to dunk the steak in. It sure was good...a little sweet...but good. IN my book, anything with Jack Daniels couldn't be that bad.

After finishing, we had to go to the Silverton....Bass Pro Shop actually....to get her the hand warmers that she now needs all the time. We tried to find some sort of sporting goods store....but the closest one was at least as far as the Silverton. As we neared the Silverton, I remembered that the San Gennaro festival was starting that day. I decided that just in case there was a back up of traffice going to San Gennaro, I woul;d go one exit further down the I-15 and get off by the South Point and take Dean Martin Dr,. the back way into the Silverton, and closer to the Bass Pro Shop. I parked in the red zone and ran inside. I knew exactly where the hand warmers were, but they moved them into the camping section. I picked up two packs and also grabbed a bag of cotton candy and some orange candy slices. Back to ST we went. As we exited the Silverton the "normal" way, turns out my fears of a traffic jam were not founded. This was going to be the third time the San Gennaro festival was going to be held at the Silverton.

After I helped her get upstairs, I headed back down to the Winchester to get in some playing time. After all, they weren't comping me to stay in the room. The progressive jackpot was now over $1950 and it was worth playing quarters. When $40 didn't produce anything, I switched to dollars. When I got low on the first hundred, I finally hit 4 9's again to build me right back up. I wound up cashing out $140 to be even again on the day.

We were supposed to eat at BB's again but she didn't feel like getting dressed again so we agreed that I would go down there to eat and bring her something back. She wanted shrimp cocktail and a lobster for her main course. When I got down there, Billy Bob's was soooo dead that I thought they were closed. When the hostess went to seat me, I opted for the bar because a bartender I knew was working that night. I could also watch the Laker game...Which really didn't matter since I had no bet on the game. Matter of fact...I hadn't bet anything that day.

Wound up bringing her the shrimp cocktail and a salad, and went back to the bar to savor my JD Manhattan and eat my salad. I told them to put her lobster in first and wait 15 minutes and put in my Prime Rib order. Everything was going to work out fine as I timed everything pretty good. They brought up her lobster and I ran it upstairs to the room. As I was leaving the room, she told me how much better the shrimp were at Twin Creeks. Back downstairs I went, and in a feww minutes my PR dinner was being carried out. I had ordered the smaller cut (20 oz.) as she told me there were to be no leftovers for the fridge because we were leaving. When I looked at the PR on my plate, I couldn't believe that this was the small cut. It was HUGE!!! I usually order the larger cut with the bone in, but I knew I would never finish this cut of meat. Oh well! Too bad the dogs were at home.

I had a Sambuca Romana to top off dinner, and after checking in with her, I went downstairs to give them some action. I debated where I was going to play on my way down. Although I wanted to go back to the HL area, I was tired, and didn't want to put in the hours needed in case I got stuck. Besides, I liked the feel of those many hundreds in my pocket and just didn't want to give them up. I wound up going back to the Winchester where I knew that Pammy would be back for her "Monday". She welcomed me with her big smile that she always seemed to have on her face. Turned out I could have any seat at the bar. Seems that the progressive jackpot had been hit a half hour earlier at $2006 and everyone cleared out when it got hit. So it was me and Pam against the world.

For some reason, on this trip, the bar was FREEZING all the time. The fans that were blowing out cold air were spaced every 4 seats or so, so there was no getting away from the cold "breeze". Didn't matter as I wasn't going to be playing for a long time period. Since the .25c jackpot was down to $1032, I decided to try and nail the dollar games. Started with BP, and after the first hundred disappeared, I switched seats and deposited one more hundred. This one was also going down the tubes when I got dealt four to a straight flush. Caught the 7d to complete the hand for 250$. All said and done, when I called it a night, I was exactly even for the day.

Well it is now Day 6....and it's moving day. We are moving to the Silverton for ??? number of days. It's already past 1 pm.....I asked for a late check out for a change...so it's time to get moving. Look for a day 6 report late today or tomorrow. At least I won't have to pay for WiFi after we move. That will be courtesy of the Silverton.

See you later!

Bags, great news on your nice hits, always welcome. Sorry to hear gf isn't feeling well and having trouble getting around. Keep up the good work and keep the t/r coming, I always enjoy reading them.
