Samsung, Apple or Hewlett-Packard Tablet ???

I'm an Apple/Mac fan so I would go with the ipad (I also own a whopping 10 shares of Apple!) not to mention that we own a Mac Box computers and a MacBook laptop...however, I've never seen anything else, so really the Galaxy may be great, too.

We do NOT have a tablet type of device. The ONLY experience we have of one is the ipad that we played with while visiting our grandson last week for a few days. However, just that little intro made me appreciate it. The children's games apps our grandson had were fun (including the Angry Birds which DonDiego was mesmerized by....probably because, as a retired engineer, he likes figuring out trajectories to bomb things!). Our grandson also watched lots of u-tube videos of kids playing with Thomas the Train (so I know you can watch u-tube videos on it, but not sure of the Flash thing you mentioned).

Anyway, both seem a good option. I would also look at the monthly fees/expenses on both to be "connected", plus see what each does in term of what YOU want a tablet for.

Enjoy whatever you select...I can see having a tablet with game apps would be a great thing to have on plane trips or long road trips.

That's exactly what I want it for..... plane trips.

It's a scheduled 5 1/2 hour flight for me from the east coast to Vegas, and one of these toys will make air travel more tolerable.

Thanks to everyone so far for all the GREAT info.

Whiskey and wimmin and them egg-stealing pigs ruined my life.
I'd go with the Galaxy. I have a Galaxy Vibrant phone (wife has one too) and we love them.
I stay away from apple and microsoft. You would do well to do the same.

Well, I have an Ipad 2 and love it, though I wish it only cost $500. Mine was around $800.
Roulette Man, Thanks for that excellent comparison video.

I think I'm now buying the Samsung Galaxy this Sunday.

I heard Apple was looking at developing a tablet just for children called iTouch Kids. Someone in the marketing department didn't think that was a very good idea...

I don't think that you'll be disappointed! One really cool thing that we use ours for is a 3G (or 4G) Mobile Hotspot. I'm using it right now with my MacBook. We don't have WiFi at our shop so I just turn on the Mobile Hot Spot and presto....WiFi!

I was going to buy one (or at least go in and get a good demonstration of one) this past weekend. The Murphy's Law gods saw to it that my garage door opener broke. $500 repair bill on Sunday. I will hold off a couple more weeks. I note that no one is discounting this thing. In matter of fact at Verizon it is something like $624 for the 32 gig version. Why $25 more? They say they will waive their connection fee if you sign up with them.
Excellent video find RM,reinforces my galaxy purchase. Should be here in the next day or two, can't wait.
Having flash was pretty important,i do you tube pretty often, but also seemed a better fit.

I have a question tho,i think someone mentioned you could buy a month of cell/wireless service at a time. Is that right? I know i can get wifi at p ho,but i would like to be able to hook up wherever we go while there,i really dont need it otherwise, everywhere i plan on using it has wifi and dont really want a monthly bill i dont really need. Also, will the GPS work w/o the cell service? I guess i shoud've done a little more research before i bought it sunday. I'm sure i'm gonna be happy with it tho.
