Thank you so much for being one of the many LVA forum posters to continue to ruin it by being so political.

I mean, it's a forum about Las Vegas so it really needs lots (and lots and lots...) of posts about terrorism. Why don't we have any posts about granite? Or rocket fuel? Or other things NOT RELATED TO LAS VEGAS!

I'm so glad your voice could finally be heard... It must be loud in the trailer park.

I did post about granite, couple years ago when I redid my kitchen and put in new countertops, I even had pics. Not being facetious, just truthful. I also posted lots of things about Vegas, when I'm going or when I come back. Boiler has done the same.

I don't get it, just how can anybody talk about Vegas 24/7? There's extremely knowledgable people here who can answer just about anything, but seriously, do you want to have a 5 page thread about how much 6/5 bj sucks? or how about resort fees? (actually there is one guy here who can spend pages talking about resort fees).

Folks talk about everything here and I find it enjoyable. There's a few sites that are STRICTLY vegas, like tripadvisor. Go read the past months worth of threads and you've just about learned everything there is to know about Vegas.

Also, this forum is the furthest thing from dead, it's one of the most active "Vegas" boards around, and it's fun(If you let it be)
People, if you want to talk about Vegas, make a post! I'm in and will actively participate. I'll expect little to nothing from the whiners.
Boiler, honestly, I respect that you follow this and other issues closely, and you locate and post links that support your postion.
But with all due respect, your posts ramble to the point I can't tell whether you give any credence to positions/publications other than those most close to your heart.
Not that you have to.

Significant lapses in performance in Homeland Security, the Secret Service, FBI, the military branches, and others are well publicized.
Call them scandals or just plain incompetence at the top and bottom.

How many heads have rolled at the Secret Service and HS? How long does it take a new "head" to get things straightened out?
A long time, for sure.
I can't at all say whether any of the high level "firings" (more likely forced retirements, movements to another agency, etc.) were justified.
It is more like a pyramid of CYAs from the top down.

There is a lot of ranting and raving and blowing about passing laws to "make it easy to terminate agency leaders" when lapses happen.
Well, guess what, that will never pass, and often it is not the solution to certain problems anyway.
When the 'little guys' at the bottom aren't held accountable for doing their J-O-B, our nation is in big trouble.

But I digress.

I am as concerned as anyone about terrorism, and I've read all the stories about this or that immigrant not being properly vetted, etc.
I worry about ISIS and other terror organizations recruiting those of weak mind and morals, those who see no future ahead of them for whatever reason and are subject to the whisperings in their ear/social media to 'come and join us.'

But I can say that I worked for many years with some of the best physicians, best people from all countries including Pakistan, Mexico, Bulgaria (whatever that is now), Russia, South America, Southeast Asia, Middle East, you name it, and I know them to be of the best of humankind.

My point being that your generalizing of all Muslims or all Pakistanis just detract from the points you try to get across.

Thank you if you read any of this. JMHO.

In an effort not to ramble, I'll only ask who was fired?

There are still plenty of Las Vegas specific threads in this forum. The threads that are primarily political are pretty easy to spot. If you don't want to read those, don't click on them! I would also suggest that terrorism is Las Vegas related in that the city is likely very high on the hit list of Islamic extremists.

Secret Service heads, for one or two.
As mentioned, whether actually fired (as White House press would make it sound) or retired under pressure or moved to another position.
Double post...or some kind of hiccup. Sorry!
A picture is worth a 1000 words.
