San Francisco Treats

I forgot to mention something that we did and enjoyed. I don't remember the steet or exactly where it was,but it was the building that houses all the machinery that makes the cable cars run. Big huge pulleys and related equipment to make it all work. Very cool,if your into that kind of thing that is.
I'll second muir woods as well, the size of those trees is truly awesome to see. We did that and continued up the coastal highway to montego bay I think was the name of it,town that the movie "the birds" was filmed),ate lunch and headed back to town. Great day!

thought the town was bodega bay
I'm another fan of the wharf. Lots of small, unique shops and great sourdough pizza. The bus tour sounds like a great idea, too. I'm about your age, (child of the late sixties) and I'd want to see Haight Ashbury...just to see where it all started. k
In good weather, a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge is a must. In bad weather, take a bus across. You should research the history of the bridge in advance.

The sea lions at the wharf are interesting, but not a must, I would say.

The park and the zoo are both nice. In the past, they allowed zoo visitors very close access to the lions and tigers at feeding time. I don't know if they still do this after one of the Siberians took off an arm a couple years ago. I believe that same beast was shot after attacking some stupid a**holes who were harrassing her. You can go down to the beach from the zoo.

If the Giants have a home game, that would be great. It's a very nice stadium.

Both UC Berkeley and Stanford U. are nice.

they are an absolute must for me so i guess it depends on the interest of the person taking the trip.
