Sanctuary cities??

I'm sure those statistics will be comforting to the family of Kathryn Steinle. Of course you're missing the point entirely....The victims of violent crimes committed by people here illegally...ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN DEPORTED MULTIPLE TIMES.....are victims of both the criminal and of our Government's inability to control our borders. Those crimes should never have happened because those criminals should not be here.

Umm, . . . maybe the American-born criminals are just afraid to go out at night in areas of "concentrated immigration".

This is getting so out of hand, I don't understand what people aren't seeing about the problems with the illegal immigrants(pick a country) and the problems is causing for this country. The left wants to coddle them for votes, they don't give a shit what is truly good for the country. To be fair hre, neither does the other side.
I still can't wrap my head around these "sanctuary cities" that are in direct violation of the law but you get other cities and states that actually try and stick with the law and dod something about illegals and they get criminalized by the feds! AZ comes to mind, there was a big battle that of course the feds won. Why aren't the feds criminalizing these sanctuary cities?

It bears repeating. From The Economist, four days ago:

So for those of you who claimed or inferred that illegal immigrants commit more crimes, I'll just chalk your attitude up to profound ignorance on the subject. But next time you say it, you'll just be lying.

Reagan's little bit was supposed to strengthen the boarder and then enforce the laws so no new illegals could come in.

The argument keeps coming up that illegals do the jobs no one wants...like drywall and brick layers, roofers, and cooks.

Last I recall, union wages for a brick layer used to run $29.00/hr - no one can live on that kind of money nowadays

OK then Forkie let me ask you a straight up question then, tossing everything aside. Why do you think the current laws shouldn't be enforced against these sanctuary cities? What is it exactly that puts them above the law?

And if you want a bonus round. Why should those here illegally now be put ahead of those that hve been waiting legally for Lord knows how long?

Skilled carpenters were $35 and way up from there, not anymore, and I've been outta the biz for a awhile but still have friends in. Don't even think about trying to bid a drywall or paint job, you won't even come close.

I got a contract doing the cabinets in 12 unit condo buildings and I went in after the drywallers who had been there the previous day/evening and there was always one unit that was always absolutely disgusting. They would use the w/d closet (that was at the end of the galley kitchen) for their toilet.I would have to hang all my cabinets smelling that foulness all morning. Man the super was pissed too but they kept doing it it, we didn't get it. He'd make 'em go clean it, but it didn't stop 'em. Go figure, there were porta pottys right on site.

Nearly 25% of the inmates in California are illegals. Nearly 10% of the inmates in Texas are illegals. If we had a closed border many of these people would not have been allowed in.

If people want to come here, get a work visa. All people want here is for people to follow the law and pay taxes.

Why do liberals see this as a problem?

What other country allows for such a large illegal immigrant population? Does Mexico?

Does anyone remember the Cuban boatlift? They sent us all their criminals and mentally ill. We spent millions sending these criminals to our prisons. There was a prison riot in Atlanta, the prison was overtaken by the Cubans when they found out we would send them back. That was the fabled Carter administration that had an "open-arms" policy for Cuban refugees. It took over 10 years to clean up this mess.
