Sanders and Clinton to eliminate oil drilling on public lands

I view the oil and gas business as different than most commodity markets, because of OPEC manipulations. That being said, history tells us that this tax never goes away if implemented. Politicians would promise it's end, but we've been snookered hundreds of times with that sort of Liberal promise.

Well you'd have to do it as a sliding scale tariff so it decreases by law as oil prices go up and it expires after a certain date..maybe in 10 years. I see energy independence as a national security issue. It's pretty clear The House of Saud is trying to use their low cost oil as a weapon to destroy our industry and regain market share. Would you just let them do it? The Saudis aren't our friends.

Or is the House of Saud doing our bidding? Low oil prices cripple Putinlandia and Venezuela.

Who is this 'our' you're talking about? President Obama? The Big Oil Companies? The American People? The Illuminati? Of course Saudi Arabia's biggest foe is Iran...and they ain't our buddy either. I'm just sayin' we have the resources and technology to be energy independent and it's in our national interest to do so. And that doesn't just mean drill baby drill. it's whatever it takes. From Shale Oil, Natural Gas, Conservation, Clean Energy...whatever it takes.

As an independent voter I find it to be interesting that the Democratic Party will do all they can do to make us dependant on foreign oil. This is just another example why it is important to put in an president that is not part of the old party lines. Maybe 8 years from now most of you will realize what is happening around you.

Which party was in the White House when the amount of money sent overseas for oil was cut by three quarters in the last six years? What percent of our oil is foreign bought today as opposed to the last year of the Bush administration?
As an independent voter, those should be things you are informed about.
Billy, I'm happy to see that you understand a small portion of the truth. Obama did everything to stifle the drilling which was ramping up due to the new technologies being employed. Ignore this fact if you like.

Drilling on public lands where Obama had influence plummeted, while drilling on private lands where Obama had little influence, skyrocketed. The net was nice growth, but nothing like we would have experienced if Obama hadn't been an obstructionist.

Only those who are willing to lie about the truth, or those who are ignorant of the truth would tout Obama's oil and gas drilling record.

No wonder DT says, "I love the poorly educated." I do get a kick when rush and company talk about low information voters and the very fools he is referring to agree with him.
I dont know what this thread is about - except Boilerman is upset at Obama for a problem that doesn't exist.

We would be importing 30% less crude oil if Obama hadn't stopped drilling on public lands. Call it a problem or something else, but it's the truth.

Oh, and let's not overlook Obama's proposal to increase the royalties (taxes) that the Exxon's of the World pay when drilling on public lands. He says that he wants to assure that they pay their "fair share", which is a never ending "more".

Is there anyone that is willing to guess what happens when the cost of doing business goes up and the competitions cost does not? Do you think we'll get more or less drilling because of this tax? I've got an idea, but I'll leave that first shot for someone else.

This tax proposal is different than the cost per barrel tax that Obama's talking about. He should dress up as a "Double Mint Twin", since he's going to raise taxes twice.
