You said "Two at the top end". I gave three citations. That's all it takes to prove you wrong. You're certainly not worth any more of my time on that.....since I already proved you wrong. I think you may just be obsessed with Diaper Man. It's all starting to make sense now. I'll say hello to CUPID for you when I'm manning my free speech circle December 19. Let me know if you want me to give him your number.
Have you considered returning?

As a somewhat regular visitor to the Cote d'Azur I can guarantee you that if anyone were to show up on the beach looking like "diaper guy" they would be immediately removed, arrested and held for the French maximum of 5 days without being charged. It would be worse in Italy. Even Europeans have standards.

I'm glad we actually agree on something but you are wrong when talking about how the French or Italians would deal with "Diaper Guy on the beach". This is not how France nor Italy would handle Diaper Guy. He might get removed, he might even go to jail but he will be out within 12 to 24 hours and get fined at most. European laws are different than ours, they handle this freedom of speech thing differently.

Yes, freedom of speech is different there. Political speech and social expression are considered two completely different subjects.

As a frequent participant of Med regattas and their drunken party counterparts I do have some experience extraditing crew members from French, Italian and Spanish jails. No one gets out of a French jail in less than 48 hours. Offenses can be hard to define, usually at the discretion of the arresting officer or official, not always the actual law.
For the particularly heinous crime of mooning a group of police officers in St. Tropez you will be held two days and not let go till three hours before your flight leaves. If Prince Felipe cannot (or will not) get one of his own citizens out of jail for such a minor offense it shows you how serious they are about these things. You don't see the kind of things in most areas of Europe that you do on Fremont street (or Hollywood, or NY Times Square) for a reason.

Hate to correct you again, but several European countries have special laws that apply during certain events. There's something that's called "speed justice" (lack of a better translation) which is being used at special events with large crowds (for example big soccer matches or events celebrating national holidays). So what you are saying here is not common practice in everyday life. It really isn't. I've seen worse things in Spanish, French, Greek and Italian tourist destinations than on Fremont street. Take my word for it, I spend 4 months a year in Europe, my entire family lives in Europe and I was born in Europe.

I have decided to explore this whole Fremont Street free speech situation for myself on my December Trip. I will apply for my very own 2 hour 6 foot free speech circle. I will perform there in the spirit of Lenny Bruce...pushing the boundaries of Free Speech...dressed in my Giant inflatable Penis Costume. My Fremont Street Character will be known as Richard Head. At least that's the plan.

Please post pictures!

I may stream it live to the Internet.

Have you? Might want to give "your country" back to the native Americans dipshit!

I was born in Texas. That makes me as much a native American as anyone else in the US.

Ohhh so you're Mexican
I'm glad we solved this mistery
Boiler claim that he's used the term "Diaper Guy" no more than two times. Alanleroy could only produce two examples...........and he had to go back 1.5 years to even do that.

What ever happened to the guy that did the YouTube videos of these "street performers"? He said that there would be more coming. That being said, I hope that he finds better acts to feature in them. If people don't give these "no talent beggers" money, they'll go home. Saying that, I know it's not going to happen. there's always going to be a bunch of 20 year guys willing to give some gal money if she's got 99% of her boobs showing no matter what she looks like. Same thing with "diaper guy". He's going to get money from people because of the "shock value".

What the casinos and business need to do is, if there's a "performer" outside their door they object to, blast music loud enough to make them leave. Better yet, have them "hire" acts that help draw people into their business. Find a dozen or so acts to take over the zones outside their doors the entire day. Problem solved.

Ray
Please DON'T post pictures. Once you've seen them in person on Fremont, the image is burned into your brain forever.
But if you have pics of 2 Minnie Mouses duking it out over busking space, now, that would be a sight worth seeing.
