They have a bunch of framed black and white photos on the walls. One night I tried to take pictures
of them. They didn't come out so great, but the lighting was bad, and my camera is a point and shoot
some were too blury...others just ok....But still...you get the idea....

Rat Pack, Elvis and the Beatles all stayed there...AlanLeroy Too.

Great Pictures Alan! Thank you for sharing those. It is so sad to see that another Vegas orginal is going to go away. I am sure that Sam Nazarian who owns the place is not going to remodel. I am also sure that he knows what he is going to do with the but has not made a announcement yet. Even though he says he wants to remodel I am very skeptical. I mean havent we heard this before with the Stardust and also the Frontier?

I just think it is a shame that someone buys a property like that and promises to do right and preserve it and then promptly runs it to the ground. I just wonder if he knows what a historical property it is or he just does not care.

I guess that once he figured he could not make anymore money off the place he would just kill it and that it what we happen if does not try to remodel it and just reopen it later.

I hope he does the right thing and sell it to someone who will.
I think the one picture of the Beatle's performing was taken at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Why yes. August 20, 1964. The sold-out concert at the Las Vegas Convention Hall was attended by 8,000 fans. They spent the night at the Sahara in the "18th floor penthouse suite".

I have a friend, Harvey Hyde, the former head football coach at UNLV when Randal Cunningham and Ickie Woods played. Harvey would do his Monday Night Football broadcasts from the Sahara Hotel.
I took those same Sahara pictures as you did. The first 3.
