Saturday 6th April - time for the Tony Music Pick Of The Week - this is a departure - I usually do my "best of" list from 1964 to now. My pick tonight is a show at the LVH in Las Vegas - We flew there specifically to see this show. They have a one year residency at the LVH which means we will see it at least 2 more times. I have supplied lots of links, but there are lots more for anyone interested - my pick for this week is "Raiding The Rock Vault" My new favourite Supergroup - here are some links to get you started - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN9G7oeV6ac

"RAIDING THE ROCK VAULT" is "The Story of Classic Rock," comprised of members from some of all time great bands

Thanks for the recommendation and links, Tony. I’ve read/watched/listened to all of them, and several others that are available on YouTube. Some of these guys I’m familiar with, and others not so much, but it sure sounds like they make a helluva band.

I hope to see Raiding the Rock Vault in the future. For me, I’m sure it would be a real trip down memory lane as well as a top notch musical extravaganza.

Tony, if I may add just one more link to your extensive list, I think this 3-minute sizzle reel provides an overview that may be helpful for those trying to gauge their own level of interest.

Thanks again for the review and info. It's much appreciated.

I saw it recently, and obviously it's great, but it took me a few minutes to get past the Vegas-y science fiction story line, and the brief comedy interludes. I was expecting more of a jam session, with them playing their own stuff, and I didn't expect so much from the '60's and early '70's. (My idea of the show probably would have closed in a week.)

But I was shocked at how they all worked so well together, and even the comedy routines were on point and funny. At one point, I found myself thinking that it was spectacular enough be a stadium show. They are genius musicians, and they did a LOT more than just cover the songs, but basically, I think it's the best cover band anyone could ever imagine.
Tony....did you ever see the movie "Rock of Ages"? I was shocked to see Tom Cruise in the movie and take 2nd fiddle on the credits. I have only watched parts of it, but great music from what I watched. The finale with Cruise singing "Don't Stop Believing"....a Journey song...which was written by Jon Bon Jovi. I never knew that before.

Good link Jim - thanks!
I wasn't crazy about the science fiction story line - fortunately it was only for the first 3 minutes.
I really enjoyed Rock of Ages - critics panned it but I thought that Cruise did an amazing job.
At Christmas I saw Rock of Ages the stage show at the Venetian - definitely recommended - they did a great job.
