Saturday Night Pick

I do a Saturday night pick on 3 different sites that I am on. It is my own opinion (and only my own opinion) of the very best rock, pop or folk from the sixties - I discuss why I think it was the best, if I was involved in it (which I occasionally was) I explain my role. Most times I just discuss what made it, in my opinion, special. The intention when I started this was to introduce friends to great music - which was not necessarily a hit (I care more about the quality than the chart position) It has taken off beyond anything that I ever anticipated and is starting to develop quite a following. If anyone is interested I would be pleased to copy it here - I am doing it anyway so it is no effort. Not trying to push it or self promote (not like I make a dime) but if that interests anyone let me know and I will start to copy it here.
Sample - here is my post from last Saturday - One of the few singers of the period who really stood out - totally unique voice -
I always wanted to tour with her but it didn't happen - I like her so much that this week I am going out of my usual pattern and posting an entire album - here it is -

The opening sound is whales - recorded by Greenpeace - the whales recording is the only part that I contributed to - I donated some of the funds to make it happen - but that is all.

If you would like this to become a weekly post - let me know - and I will copy it here

I'd like to see it, Tony. I would enjoy reading your opinions and insights about the music, as well as any personal stories you may have to go along with them.

I'd love to read it, sounds very interesting.

back in the seventies i was kates double.my friends called me kate for about 4 years.somewhere out there are 2 men who think they bought a drink for her even though i tried to convince them otherwise.they asked me for my autograph which i signed with my own name and they still didnt twig.wuthering heights was brilliant

Cloudbusting and Experiment IV - two of her greatest in my opinion.
All great tracks. Lately I am enjoying her album - Kate Bush Director's Cut - Here is what Kate has to say -
For some years I had wanted to revisit a selection of tracks from the albums "The Sensual World" and "The Red Shoes"
Keeping the best original performances from the musicians but stripping out the tracks, adding new scenes and textures before sewing it all back together. It has become something of a director's cut but in sound - not vision. When it came to singing these songs again, it was like trying to open a door with the wrong shaped key.
