I'm inspired.

You've watched Deliverance too many times. Beautiful and peaceful up in the mountains. Or one can choose to live in the midst of concrete, strip malls and lots and lots of people.
According to Gallup's well being ranking, West Virginia came in DEAD LAST when residents were asked:
  • Did they enjoy their daily life.
  • Did they have supportive and loving relationships in their life.
  • Did they like where they lived, feel safe, and have pride in their community.
  • Did they have good health and enough energy every day.

In the fifth category, West Virginians were 47th out of the 50 states when it came to feeling like they had economic security. Yep, I think American Somalia nails it.

Appalachia is a large area, encompassing all or part of thirteen states.

If the Gallup Well-Being Rankings are the be-all and end-all of well-being, it’s interesting to note that seven of those thirteen states rank higher than both the state billryan is moving from (New York), and the state billryan is moving to (Nevada).

Included in those seven is the state in which DonDiego resides.

  • I wonder how many times forky has visited W Va or any of the states that comprise Appalachia? I kind of have the feeling forky has also watched deliverance too many times, and now is forming opinions from a poll and the movies. Don't feel too bad, many, many ignorant people are guilty of the same thing.
It's such a quaint concept that able-bodied people fend for themselves...............sarcasm.

Boiler long ago explained that Obamacare would grow into another wealth redistribution program, and I could not have been more correct. I've not heard one Lib on this site who argued the point admit to his error.

DonDiego cannot speak for an entire State, but he supposes if the choices are:
    i. forkush has a stroke
ii. forkush lives in West Virginia
. . . many of the residents would concur with forkushV's preference.

    "Montani Semper Liberi"
    Many agree with you.

So I take it you've never been there. Sheer ignorance. It's a shame that whenever the media seems to interview or catch a local on TV it's always the most ignorant ,backward, skoal chewing redneck they can find. Reality is so, so different.
I wouldn't say I'd argue with you if that would be your preference.
