The Second War of Northern Aggression ?

A newly released Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll reports that 32% of California residents support secession from the United States of America.

Now, jes' like lots of folks poor old DonDiego has been awaiting the collapse of California into the Pacific Ocean for a long, long time. But this heh' se'cession is something altogether different. These folks is a'cogitatin' 'bout leaving the USA, . . . jes' like them there Confederate folks did back in 1860-61.

And this, in spite of the decision in Texas v White et al (1869) which concluded that individual states could not unilaterally secede from the Union.
Whew ! Them Californians sure are uppity.

This could result in the Second War of Northern Aggression.

Well, . . . anyway, . . . if'n this heh' se'cession were to result in armed conflict between the Californians and the USofA, the reader needn't fear for DonDiego's safety; teechur and he are pretty safe up heh' in Appalachia on Tomato Ranch Ridge. And they've got a pretty good view by which to reconnoiter any advancing rebels if'n they do get this far.
Didn't Texas talk about recession also? Maybe that's how the country can settle their differences, pit the Tx militia against the Ca militia in the arena of differences. No holds barred, anything and everything allowed, kinda like hunger games arena. Better yet, a gladiator type arena, that would be really cool. There must be total submission by the loser and will be governed by the winner until the next quarter quell.

I'll bet on the cowboy types against the surfer snowflake dudes.
Since I reside in Texas, what jatki99 proposes would be inhumane. Real men fighting girlymen would be totally unfair, and just why would Texas want to govern the land of fruits and nuts?
Cali could start charging resort fees and milled would fold like a cheap suit.

Let's hope they don't secede. Without taxpayers in California who would pay for infrastructure in Appalachia?
Perhaps the parts of the country that contribute the most are upset they are represented the least.

2016's most federally dependant states
I said at the time Texas should be free to leave, and I'll say the same thing for California. I just hope Trump doesn't build a wall down the I-15 corridor.

Poor old DonDiego thanks Californians and other 'mericans for their beneficence to folks up 'heh in Appalachia.

But he requests a modest upgrade to their charity, . . . DonDiego might need to buy a car next year, jes' so's he can put his old Subaru on blocks in the front yard.

good-bye Cali!!
Don't let the earthquake hit you in the ass on the way out to sea.
The vast majority of folks that answered that poll knew it was and took it as a joke, and it still only got 32%. It amazes me that it's so low.

Now, about that snowflake surfer comment....I would like to invite anyone who believes that to paddle out into the lineup with me at any break in California where you can express that belief. My condolences to your family. Funny thing about surfers, they are VERY politically neutral, at least on the beach. At the same time they are very in-tolerant of anyone messing with their waves, break or overall stoke. You put the Texas cowboy type up against the California surfer dude and they will most likely band together and beat the shit out of the ones who tried to pit them against one another. I should know, I am both.

Now, the ones that should be considered are the desert rats, they're the ones in California that are armed.
