Who did Negan kill on The Walking Dead?

I would guess Eugene, although the Glen camp gets a lot of support on my comic forum.

I have not followed the series closely, and am somewhat naive politically. Am wondering why there are non-infected contingents fighting against each other.

I watched and I wonder.

Why do non-infected contingents fight in todays world? Greed. Either they have something you want or you are afraid they will try and take what you have. god is dead, or at least missing in action. If you aren't a wolf, you are a sheep.
The stupid thing is Rick started this mess. He volunteered to use his band to wipe out another band in return for a cow and some fruits. He had no way of knowing if they were taking on ten people or a thousand but that didn't stop him.

There are strong rumors that even the actors don't know yet who was offed, and that the writers haven't decided who, but they know a few of who it won't be.

My money is on Eugene, Glenn, or Abe.

If I was Nagen, I'd either kill Rick or take his kid hostage. Eliminate the leaders and the sheep will follow.
Several characters on the show have already past the point in the comic where they killed off, so pretty much everybody is fair game.

The producers have indicated that it is a beloved character. That would eliminate Eugene & Abraham. Nagen had said he would feed Carl's other eye & feed it to his father if anybody else yelled. That would indicate they might live.

However, the producers have misdirected before (Glenn's earlier near death).

I thought Nagen struck to Rick's left.

We know it isn't Rick or Carl. I also don't think it was Daryl, Glen, or Maggie because the perspective of the person being beaten did not include hair in their line of sight and they all had their hair in their face right before the beating. I think it's probably Abraham but I really hope not. At this point, I don't think I'd care if it was Glenn. I keep watching it over but I think only time will tell. It's going to be a long summer. I'm toying with the idea of not watching Fear the Walking Dead until I can binge watch the whole season.
