Hope I check out before I get that bad.

Hopefully, when you're ready to check out, you won't have some well intentioned relative hiding medication in your food in order to prolong your agony.

Okay that is pretty much a cheap shot. If the doctor prescribes medicine for diabetes or for kidney failure, and you have a relative who is too stubborn (and maybe not mentally capable of grasping the gravity of the situation) to take their medicine, that they should be allowed to go ahead and do nothing? Do you know what conservatorships are for? Do you understand what medical directives are?

First of all, let's get a few things straight here so some of you don't think I'm such a vile person that you can't even continue typing.

Number one, I don't have to pay anything for Faye's hospitals or doctors. She is covered by Medical and now by First Care, so it's not like I don't want to pay to see her get well. Nothing comes out of my pocket for her care. As much of a bitch she has been to me since we've been together, I'd give almost all I own to see her get well and NOT have any health issues. If money could cure her ills, she'd be better by tomorrow.

So let me update you as to what is going on now. They are releasing her from the hospital today (Friday) and not because she is forcing them to release her. She asked several of her nurses what she should do.....stay in the hospital and get treatment...or be with her family for TG. They all told her to be with her family. So what does that tell you?

They were going to start her on her physical therapy program for a couple of days, but I guess that has changed. I've told you about her leaking fluids from her arms and legs. Well now a little blood is seeping out with the fluid...it's happened before, and now it's happening again. They are now running tests to see if she might have internal bleeding from her fall(s) in the bathroom, and that's why she's now leaking blood along with her other fluids.

I just got off the phone with Faye. I called her an hour ago and she didn't answer so I thought she went down for her latest tests. Now she tells me that they are going to do a biopsy on her stomach as that's where they think the blood is coming from. Who knows, it could be stomach cancer. I sure hope not. But they are going to put her under in order to perform the biopsy. I know that her neurologist wouldn't risk putting her under to operate on her aneurism, so it must be serious enough if they are going to put her under to do this procedure now.

Seems to be that her kidneys are still functioning and they haven't mentioned dialysis yet. Seems her liver is more of a problem. A skin specialist finally discovered what's wrong with her as far as her skin peeling off. It's called dermatitis, and it can't be cured. But it's not life threatening like her other conditions so they aren't worried about it.

So if nothing show up with her tests today, I guess it's off to Vegas tomorrow afternoon. If it was up to me, I would put the trip off until she completed everything that had to be completed at the hospital. What really sucks is that Faye begged her doctor to put her in the hospital 2 weeks ago. Since a new doctor had just taken over from our previous one, the doctor just dismissed this with, "well let's just see what happens with your test results". Well I guess Faye knew what was going on with her body better than the doctor who had just taken over her case. Who knows what problems this delay will cost her? Sometimes if you nip something in the bud, it stops the problem in its tracks. Only time will tell.

The stress of this situation is really getting to me. Dealing with her and now the dogs by myself isn't an easy situation. Thankfully, the dog sitter is back as of last night.

UPDATE!! Faye just called me again to say that they recommend that someone be there after the procedure is completed. That doesn't sound too good. I guess I'll let you know what happened when I get back, and what her results were. Say a prayer guys and girls....I think she's going to need all the prayers we can muster.

If an adult does not wish to take treatment, then they should not be forced to take treatment.

If they are not mentally capable to make the decision, then the decision should be made for them, unless they left specific directives from when they were mentally capable.
Bags - sometimes I think you share way too much information. Sometimes I think I read to much.

Despite this I pray for Charlene and you and hope all of this turns out well --- at the very least I hope you both have an enjoyable Holiday.

Actual jphelan, I think you mean Faye and I and not Sharlene.

However, here is a Sharlene update. I haven't spoken to her since Wednesday evening, and I couldn't understand why she wasn't taking my calls, or texts or emails. I called her at 6 am to make sure she made it to Barstow on time. No answer. I even called the person who's home she is staying at to find out why she wasn't answering my calls. Finally, I just tried to call him about a half hour ago, and he answered. Turns out, that Shar checked herself into rehab on Wednesday night, and she can have no contact with the outside world for 30 days other than some calls she can make from a pay phone in the clinic. So for all of you that had doubts she would EVER make it into rehab, looks like she finally made it. Yesterday the clinic was faxing her information to the public defender in Barstow, so her butt was covered and there wouldn't be another warrant put out on her. She decided to go to the clinic in Culver City. So now Faye really has no worries about her showing up in Vegas again. She wasn't going to be there anyway as I made Faye a promise that she wouldn't be there to ruin her TG.

Leaving for the hospital in about an hour to see how she's doing and what they might have found out with the biopsy. I guess they have to run tests on the biopsy and it might take some time before they get the results back. I'll let you know in a while.

Rick
1. Hope Faye can get better. Sounds rather grim for her. My thoughts are with her and her loved ones.

2. I hope Shar did indeed check into rehab.
Well, some good news for a change. Faye's biopsy on her stomach came back negative and any other tests they ran. Bad news is....they still don't know where the internal bleeding is coming from. The other thing is I don't think she's getting out today. After all, it is almost 3 pm, and usually doctors do their rounds and give the OK to let you check out in the morning or afternoon at the latest. So I guess we will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Sharlene is definitely in rehab because I know the guy the helped her check in and he wouldn't lie about a thing like that. Besides, if she wasn't checked in, she would have answered my calls, as I never expected her to check in until the Barstow situation was concluded. I was just surprised that she didn't call me before she went in. He said that things were decided very quickly and he wanted to get her in to rehab before she changed her mind.

I'm sorry you won't be able to meet Shar on the down low during the end of Faye's "Final TG Trip" like you were hoping. It isn't fair to you. At least you have your supporters that must be some consolation.
iI wasn't planning to meet Star at any point during our trip for TG. How many times do I have to say that

Faye never made it out of the hospital today, and if we're lucky, she'll be checked out at 7 am. By the time she really checks out, it will probably be around 9 am. By the time we actually hit the road, it won't be until noon. I don't know how she's going to get around in Vegas as she can't move her feet, and that's the reason she wasn't released today. For the first time since "forever", I'm really in no rush to get there. Probably will be for Sunday Nite Football. I figure that we'll get there around 4 pm, and by the time I get her situated, I'll be at the bar around the start of SNF.

And now for a little Sharlene update. I called the guy where she has been staying, trying to get more information from him. I don't know if he was drinking or whatever, but his story just didn't make sense. First he told me she was at the Kaiser in Culver City, and he dropped her there late on Wednesday. When we spoke again, he told me she was at this place called, "Just In Time" in North Hollywood. I couldn't understand why he at first told me she was at Kaiser in Culver City and now she was at Just In Time in North Hollywood. He told me he was going to go down to the truck and let me know the address. I waited an hour for him to call me back, and he never did. I was now getting pissed with every phone call that I made, and he didn't answer. I called him all night long, and all I got was his voice mail. This was very disturbing to me. Not only didn't he answer, but his story just didn't add up. Even though I spoke to her on Wednesday evening, no mention was made of going to rehab, and why she never called me before she supposedly went in, just didn't add up.

Finally I had a plan for him to make sure he called me. Since her pick up truck is now in my name, I told him that if he didn't contact me soon, or by 9 am the following morning, that I was going to report the truck stolen. That should get his attention. After all, he had permission from Star to use the truck while she was in rehab, but no permission from me. When he still didn't contact me by 9 am, I got very concerned. After all, I didn't know this guy, and Sharlene has a way of getting under a persons skin, and she might have pissed him off enough that he might have killed her. I'm serious...that's what I was thinking. So in a last ditch effort to have him call me, I told him that I was going to file a "missing persons" report. Extreme??? Maybe, but I wanted to know where my Sharlene was, and he was the only one that could supply me the answers I needed. I still didn't get a response.

When 9 am came and went, and he still wouldn't answer my calls, I had one last idea that I hoped would get a response. I would call Shar's Dad and have him call Dave to see what was going on and where Sharlene was. I was really worried about her at this point. I wouldn't have put it past Star to tell him to say she was in rehab and never went and she was doing whatever, or whoever. So I called her Dad and told him what was going on and to call this guy. He said he would call him and get back to me. I waited for an hour, and just as I was about to call him back, the phone rang and it was her Dad.

FINALLY, the real story came out. She didn't go in on Wednesday night as I was told, but on Thursday. When she went to Culver City, they had no room for an Inpatient, so they sent her to their facility in Burbank where they admitted her. He told her Dad that he would call me and clear things up. I finally got in touch with him, and he told me reporting a stolen car (truck) was a little extreme. I really never reported it stolen, but it got his attention.

So she actually went in on Thursday after he tried to get her into the Culver City joint. Like I said, they didn't have room for her and shipped her out to their Burbank facility. I still wanted to know why she didn't make her SSI appointment on Monday, and he said she slept for 2 days. So now I hopefully hope she calls when she can. He said he gave her $10 in quarters to make outside calls when she can. He also gave her $20 for any expenses she might have. He better have given her money as just sent her $150. He said she gave him $100 for all the money he was laying out for her.

So now that the whole situation is straightened out, I feel a lot better, but I sure do miss her a lot. It just doesn't seem fair that I can't speak to her for a month, I miss her so much.

So it looks like it's off to Vegas sometime around noon tomorrow. I'm just thankful that her son and daughter will be there to help me with Faye. Her daughter left from Illinois today, and when she called to see how her Mom was, she told me that they hadn't even reached Missouri yet. That was about noon today. She'll probably get there before we will given the circumstances.

I don't even know if we should be making this trip as it's so screwed up so far. But at this point, I really need a break and Vegas just might be the answer. It better be a "good" trip or I won't be going any time soon, unless I win some money in one of my contests.
