Sharlene Is MIA!

It's Faye's place to decide what she wants to do and can do. She might be the type of person who insists her kids keep their original plans.
There's lots of unknown here.

Of course I care about Faye, but there is nothing more that I can do for her except what I've already been doing. As I've stated, if money could fix her health issues she would have been cured yesterday.

I'm no longer worried about Sharlene. She's where she belongs and she can now help herself with the help from others.

Now about this Vegas trip. It's been on again off again as far as Faye goes. I was supposed to leave at 4 am but thanks to calls that kept waking me up, I was too tired to start driving, and then Faye called to say she might be getting out and for me to wait for her. So far, things have changed about 10 times, with her finally decided she was going to go. But just a minute. Things have changed again and she told me to go without her. Why? Because they told her they could get her into a nursing type home by tomorrow. However, if she waits until she gets back, it will be weeks before her HMO can get her into a facility.

As far as her children coming out her, that would be no problem except they wouldn't be able to have Thanksgiving here because we don't have enough room, not to mention the dog situation. So for them to come down here just isn't an option as they really can't afford to spend the extra money on hotel rooms in this area.

So it's still undecided what's going to take place. At this point I think she should stay home and get the care she needs to get well.

I don't know Faye, and I certainly don't understand the way women think, but I could see, no matter how sick I was, being motivated to be the one taken to my family Thanksgiving dinner get together rather than staying in the hospital and "cousin" Sharlene going in my place. I mean, it would not be the first time Sharlene has attended as your cousin to a gathering with Faye's family. Now that your cousin is in rehab, it's safe to stay in the hospital or nursing home while you go alone, really alone, to the family Thanksgiving gathering.

Hopefully you could do them this favor (for Faye)

I don't know, man. He's got Shar's truck to get fixed, and she'll probably need some money to spend while in rehab. And then there's all of those airline tickets to fly in a dog sitter. And gotta set aside a little something for the poker machines...

Now some one please correct me if I'm wrong here...
Faye has liquids (and blood) oozing from her skin. (ok??)
And the doctor has just "finally" diagnozed this as "dermatitis" ?????
"Dermatitis" is the 'medical' term for.....DRY SKIN !!!

Somebody (Bags???) might want to rub on a little skin cream ???

One....this whole saga is mind boggingly retarded. But TWO...what is even more bizarre is that Bags gives world wide minute-by-minute updates.

I'm stupified to say the least.
But.....each to his/her own I guess. Best of luck....to whoever needs it the most. <Whew !!!>

I think I just finally figured this mess out !

1. If Bags dies... both Faye & Sharlene are fucked (so to speak) !

2. If Sharlene dies .... nobody's fucked (literally) !

3. If Faye dies .... everybody gets fucked !

However, amongst this group, I'm pretty sure "procreation" of the species (in any form) is a bad idea.
Makes it awfully hard to root for any of the options.

All I can add is.... "thank god" for condoms and birth control.

Just to let you know, I already gave her family $700 to board their dogs so they could make the trip. This isn't Mr. Scrooge over here.

Oh .... my ..... God. So, I haven't been around for about 1.5 years while I have been doing what needed to be done after my divorce. Now I am ready to finally go back to Vegas (12/3) and am enjoying reading every trip report I can find, including the one that BAGIANT is posting daily. However, his trip report made me feel like I should know who Sharlene and Faye are and the back story, so I decided to do a search and see what I could find. Big mistake .... really big (ironically quoted from Pretty Woman).

Now I am behind on prepping for Thanksgiving dinner and incredibly sad. This whole situation seems like a real cluster with a lot of co-dependency. I hope Faye gets better, Sharlene gets sober, and BAGIANT can end his relationships with both of them and get a fresh start on a new relationship that is more appropriate.

PS - saw on the trip report that Sharlene is out of rehab, how long before she is in Vegas? Ugh, I guess I am now really sucked in to this saga too.
