Shop online and get all quotes by email before you show up.
And here's a neat trick that sometimes works. If you have your own financing already lined up (recommended!), let them know you will be comparing out the door prices, but lead them to believe that you think your resulting monthly payment will be relatively high, and that you are planning on financing through the dealer. They MAY choose to give you a rock bottom price, assuming they will make it back on the kickback they receive from the bank for financing above the base rate.
Then go in and sign the papers with the high monthly payment and take delivery. But the next day, show up with a draft from your bank.
