Silverton??

I often read that the Silverton is a good place for video poker. Is that still true?

How is their buffet?
It was once upon a time. Then, they lowered the pay schedules and in my opinion is is not worth my time. Can go down the road to South Point and have much better VP schedules. The buffet is still outstanding!!!
They have some solid 8/5 Bonus Poker at the main bar ...couple that with the Starbucks coffee and Bailey's Irish Creme (my signature comped Vegas Drink) and the Silverton still makes a worthy VP destination. There are better schedules to be found elsewhere.

The buffet is arguably the best bargain in Vegas. I love the hand-dipped ice cream for dessert. They have Pistachio Nut (my signature flavor of hand dipped ice cream).

Not for quarters, at least the last time I was there. Has something changed?

they did still have it for quarters at the end of December at that main bar.

As of this month, Silverton began a 0.3% slot club, which is a big improvement over the previous comps only club. And some local high rollers like it because of its generous mailer, but which is often worthless to out-of-towners.

But as long as you're at that end of town, why not head over to the Southpoint? More 99%+ games than any place in the world, and a slot club that puts some slightly over 100%, 24/7.
You may not have the best paytables at the Silverton, but they aren't that far off. Wonderful place to play with great progressive bonuses. The food is great at the buffet on Fridays and Saturdays, and you won't find a better coffee shop in the Sundance Grill. Their aquarium is the best around. They always have great promotions every month, where you can win 10;s of thousands of dollars if you get luicky. Someone on this board has already done that a few months ago.

The rooms are realy comfy and they have the same beds as the Bellagio. Stop bye, I'm sure you'll like it.

Their Twin Creeks Steakhouse is also one of trhe best around, and you can have Topas from Tuesday until Saturday, with a happy hour to boot. Food is delicious.
