Silverton-Day 14

Friday the 13th. Might be unlucky for some, but not for me. I couldn't wait to get down to the casino. That freakin' Royal was now siting at over $6600 or maybe higher. I knew the competition was going to be great as the word spread. But, it waqs time for breakfast first. You can't be competive unless you had breakfast. French Toast and bacon was the order of the day. My Keno tickets from the day before paid off a miserable $28 bucks. I played the same numbers again and sat down to breakfast.

After breakfast, how much longer could this thing last? I was getting tired of fighting the battle to hit this thing. One thing about playing in the morning...there was no competition. I could switch between BP and DDB and not have a thing to worry about. But what was the sense of switching when you had a HUGE jasckpot in front of you? But I would switch to DDB just for the heck of it. It was still fun to hit those 4 Aces w/kicker for two grand. But I mostly stayed with BP to try and hit the Royal. But after playing for 3 hours, and doing quite well, it was time to go back upstairs and take a break. I needed some serious rest. The main problem was the casino was FREEZING! I was stuck $300, but then I hit 4 6's. When my balance was up to $200, I wound up hitting 4 Aces for $450. That did it! Time to go upstairs.

After kicking back for a couple of hours, it was time to go back downstairs, After all, if I didn't play, I couldn't hit the jackpot. So it was back down to the center bar. It was now pushing 4 pm, and a husband and wife team showed up to try and hit the royal. At least they were "friendlies" who i Knew well, and if I couldn't hit the royal, I could only wish it on them. We wound up playing for hours with each of us hitting 4 Aces, two;s threes and fours. We'd kid each other when one of us hit one of the key hands.

I decided to look at the cell phone to see what time it was. Holy Toledo! It was almost 7 pm. What did that matter? Well the drawing was going to take place that I missed last week on Friday. I rushed over to the aquarium where the drawing was going to be held. Now I'm a superstitious kind of guy. Although I had been called once for a drawing when I was sitting outside the area, I decided to move to the area where the motorcycle
was propped up. They stated calling names, and believe it or not, I was the 6th name called. I just knew it was going to be my day!

They called names and everyone had showed up for the first 9 people. When the 10th name was called, a lady showed up about 20 seconds late and she was disqualified. Tough beat. But like the guy said, do you make one person mad..or the whole crowd? They then called 5 more names and noone showed up. Finally, when they called the 6th name a woman showed up. When she was approaching the tournament area, one guy behind us said, it was meant to be that she should win. Soon it was to be that no truer words were ever spoken.

I had my eye on the number 4 envelope. There were 10 envelopes to be picked, and as the 5 people picked in front of me, everyone was picking the smaller prizes. When it came to my turn, the 4th envelope was mine for the taking. When I picked mine and they ripped the envelope open....I had won $1500 in FSP, the second highest prize to be won. The woman who picked last.with only one envelope left...had the highest prize....$5000 in cash or $3750 in FSP. The difference between the two was that the $5000 was taxable....the FSP wasn;t.

I already knew that my FSP was going to be used in the HLS. Why not? Ihad nothing to lose. When she finally came down to join me, I told her what I won and that we would be playing in the High Limit area later that night.

But first it was dinner at Twin Creeks. Other than a salad and a shrimp cocktail that we took to go and ate at the bar, we hadn't eaten there this trip. we had a variety of food. She hadthe "trio" which consisted of 6 oz. filet, 6 oz. lobster tail, and prawns stuffed with crab meat. UMMMM! His GF decided on the Salmon filet. I got the salt crusted baked potato with all the goodies...sour cream...chives...and huge bacon pieces. And butter of course. I gave her my Mac and Cheese and she also ordered, mashed potatoes and gravy.

After dinner, we gave her son all the leftovers which were plenty. He ate most of my Prime Rib, and what was left, he took to the room, along with most of her filet..lobster tail...and stuffed shrimp. He would feast on it at 6:15 am. Gosd bless him. But at 6' 5" and close to 250 lbs., I guess he needed a lot to fill him up. We topped it all off with Creme Brulee and French Pressed coffee. Trust me that the Creme Brulee wasn't up to it's normal standards, and I asked the waitress if they had a new chef. Being honest, she told me that they had two new chefs since my last visit in March. No wonder.

Departing the restaurant, I told her son to "wheel" her over to the HLS. Kt had gotten to the point that she now needed a wheelchair to get around. I hit the restroom and joined them all at the HLS. This was going to be a "make it or break it" situation. I was either going to turn that $1500 into some BIG bucks, or blow it all trying. But I felt it was going to be the former rather than the latter.

I told her to play the $5 game..but she refused. I protested and asked her what did she have to lose? After all, we were playing with the houses money. But she wouldn't budge, and I loaded her machine up with $100 of the $1500. I put in my card in the nachine next tio mine....selected $5 BP....and added $300 from the $1400 remaining from the FSP. It was now time to gamble and see what kind of day it was going to be.

In a matter of 5 hands...she hit a 4 OAK. Damn! I knew she should be playingf $5. But right behind her...I hit 4 Jacks for a nice $675 collection. Playing BP, the ONLY thing that would require a W2G would be 4 Aces..which I had collected the other night. It couldn't have been 4 more hands that when I hit the deal button...that 4 deuces got dealt across the screen! YOWZER, YOWZER!!! A thousand dollar payout! I was now up to $1700. While I was celebrating...she wound up hitting 2 more 4 OAK'S almost back to back. I switched to DDB in the hope that this string would keep happening. Her son begged me to cash out, which I should have and invested $300 more to try and keep the rush going. Normally, I didn't like anyone "sweating" my play, but he had been there when I hit the Royal for big bucks, so I didn't mind.

I kept bouncing between BP and DDP, and my totals went from $1500n down to $1200. There was absolutely NO WAY I would go below $1000. And I didn't. I sure wished I would have hit one more 4 OAK, but it wasn't meant to be! I cashed out $1000, and she cashed out $300. That would bring us a $900 profit, and best of all, iit was ALL on house money. HACHACHA!!!

We headed back to the center bar, and she said she wasn't up to playing much longer. And she was serious. She ciouldn't have played for 15 more minutes and she asked her sons GF to take her up to the room. She stold me I could play for a while longer, but to get up to bed SOON!

After she went upstairs, I hit no fewer than 3 4OAK's. The jackpot was now nearing $6800, and if no one hit it, it would be sitting at $7000 in no time. An absolutely GORGEOUS Asian woman took a seat next to me. When she was "hunting" for what game to play. I told her the machine waws now on dollars. She told me that dollars was all she played! Well EXCUSE ME!! It was hard to keep playing without taking a look at her on the "sly". And boy could she play! I really didn't want to get into another "war" with someone,. and I kept up at my usual pace.

Her name was Grace, and I told her my name was Bob. She told me the machine "owed" her $2600, but I couldn't believe her since I was playing most of the time and had never seen her play ionce. I told her I was the one who had pushed this jackpot up from $5200 to $6500 before anyone had "discovered" that the jackpot was this high.

We both plodded along hitting one four of a kind after another. Finally, it was time to give up. I just couldn't play any longer. If I went up and she hit the jackpot...God Bless Her! But I couldn't "fight" for another 5 minutes. I wished her luck and told her I would see her another day. She sure wa pretty.

I had been to the bank earlier that day and withdrew another 2 grand. When I got up to the room, I sat down on the bed and counted out 4 grand. I stuck it all in the safe knowing that I had a BIG comeback, and was now up 2 grand for the day.. I just KNEW that Friday the 13th wasa going to be my day....and it was. I stuck everything but $500 and change in the safe. It was going to be fun waking up the next morning knowing that it wasn't going to be a dream....but a reality that I had won so much money!!!
Good comeback! Not as nice as that royal, but nice none the less.
Nice job. Hopefully you hit the royal tomorrow.
Nice series of reports Bob! I'm keeping my fingers crossed you hit that royal! You certainly deserve to hit it!
