Silverton- Day 9

Woke up at 10 am after waking up in the middle of the night, and then again to the clock radio alarm that keeps going off at 8 am. Rolled over and slept until 10 am. We had plans to meet her family at 12:30 at the Seasons Buffet. Finally went downst airs at 12:30 pm. Her sister was always late, so I didn't think we would be the last ones there. Wound up getting a wheel chair for my other half to speed things up moving aboout the casino.

The wheelchair was a lot easier to move about. When we got to the buffet around 12:45, I couldn't believe the size of the line. Even the Platinum-Diamond line was fairly long. I parked her outside the buffet while I paid the tab. Truns out there would be 6 of us for the bunch. The reason the line was so long was the buffet was an outstanding $5 for all comers. All you had to do was have a players card for each diner. I know I wouldn't wait that long unless they were giving out $100 bills.

It was now almost 1 pm, and no one in her family was in sight. Three of them were coming from one location, while her niece only lived minutes up the road in the new home she bought. No reason for her to be late. I stood in the line that was the furthest outside of the ropes they set up that was for Diamond card holders. The phone started ringing and naturally it was her sister to tell me they were on the way. To me that meant she was first leaving her house in North Vegas. She asked if her daughter had showed up, and I replied in the negative.

I had someone hold my place in line while I decided to check out how my Keno ticket had done from the day before, and to buy my new tickets for the day. I only collected $23 from my previous days ticket. Well that didn't work out well. But I was determined to hit that 6 out of 6 sooner or later. I bought $85 more in tickets...$5 for 5 games while I ate, and the rest for my 80 game play. I had placed a couple of NBA bets before I left the room on the Lakers +2 and under 188, and Atlanta +4 and under in that game also. Wound up winning 1 out of the 4 bets. I just knew that I should go against the Lakers as everyone thought they would win to get back in the race.

When I returned to the buffet line, I got there just in time to tell the hostess how many was in our party. I told her we wanted a table instead of a booth. We got seated, and I went to get us some bowls of egg drop soup while we waited for the reat of the group to arrive. Finally her sister showed up and gave some excuse about problems with traffic. Yeah right! Her husband and son were parking the car. Her daughter was still no where in sight.

I was surprised that even though it was a $5 buffet, they still served Prime Rib and snow crab legs. At least the Silverton had the class to still serve basically the same food that they served for their Friday buffet for a price that was about 1/5th of the normal price.

Finally they wound up leaving us right after the buffet. I was glad because I was ready to play and didn't want anyone hanging around my machine when I was playing. We made our way to the bar, and our we grabbed two seats in the middle of the bar. I felt that today was going to be a good day, but boy was I wrong. I had brought down over $800+ and was hoping it was going to last for some time. We went though about half that money and spoted our two seats on the end were open. Anything had to be better than these two seats.

When the luck at these two machines wasn't much better, I made a $500 withdrawal from the ATM, rather than run back upstairs and pull some money out of the safe. She was gettting tired and was getting ready to go upstairs, but her machine didn't want her to leave. She finally hit 4 2's for the progressive jackpot of about $237. I followed with a 4OAK of my own, and it was a good one. But good fortune wasn't to ladt long and the money started to disintergrate even though I had cashed out some TITO's. At this point, she had had it and definitely wanted to go to the room. I was kind of happy as I wanted the machines all to my self. I could see the High Limit Salon was definitely in my future.

Took her back to the room and grabbed a thousand out of the safe. I would now have over $1800 to work with. I took my seat at the same machine I was playing before I went upstairs. The new hundred was performing about as bad as the others that had preceeded it. When the meter finally hit zero, I sat there pondring what my next move was going to be. I could sit at this machine, and possibly either keep pissing away hundred after hundred....or maybe hit the 4 Aces w/kicker or who knows....maybe hit the Royal. I could also make my way to the HLS and piss away thousands, or possibly go on a streak that I went on at Sam's Town. Well...no guts...no glory....so I made my way to the HLS.

The HLS had a bunch of people playing, and I couldn't get the seat I wanted, so I went to the one on the reverse side of the bank of machines. As I started to get seated, I saw this woman at a slot machine behind my machine, that I had seen at the center bar earlier in the evening. Her machine was playing the music that signals a jackpot. I took a walk over to see what she had hit. She was playing $30 at a pull and hit some kind of bars that would pay her out $1200. But I wasn't there to see what somone else hit...I was there to make back some money that gone down the drain earlier in the day and evening.

I sat down...inserted my card...selected the $5 game of Bonus Poker. I put in $300 and noticed that the Royal was approaching $30,000. Boy would that be a nice hit. I bounced between $300-$400 but started going downhill from there. The slot guy had just got done paying off the woman and said to me, "now it's your turn Bobby!" And wouldn't you know it, seconds later I got a pair of 8's, and the next tow filled in on the draw. Well that was a nice $675 hit. I switched to DDB, and when it didn't cooperate, I cashed out $600. I now switched to the machine on the opposite side and inserted another $300. One thing about DDB, if you don't hit something quick, the money goes very quickly....and that was the case this time. I decided to go back to the machine I had just left. But when I stood up to move...the machine was occupied by some guy. Even though he wasn't playing, his wifew was playing on the machine next to him. I opted for a machine that was further down the row on his side. I put in another $300 and selected BP again, and if I lost this, I would be back to even. In a few minutes, I had it up to $350, when I hit the deal button to play another $25, it dealt out 3 Aces. I don't want to tell you how many times I was dealt 3 Aces at the bar, and none of them improved. But this was a different machine in a different area, and the other two aces filled right in like they knew what they were doing!! CALL ATTENDANT was spelled out across the screen with a $2000 jackpot. Allright!!! That got me even for the day...actually ahead for the day. Joke of it is, the deuce of spades was the fifth card meaning that IF I was plying DDB...I would have cleaned up with a $10,000 score. But I would take whatever they gave me. After I collected my hand pay, I still had $325 left in credits. I cashed out the $300 and decided to go back to the machine that I first started my session. The couple who had taken "my " machine had left.

It was nice to feel those Benjamins in my pants pocket. I pulled out 3 more bills and started from scratch. BP was my game of choice. But when I got up to $600 in credits, I would switch back to DDB, I just couldn't get that 4 OAK that would put me WAY over the top, and the credits started diappearing.

I swithched back again to BP, which seemed to be the only game cooperating tonight. It wasn't long before I got a pair of threes dealt to me, and lo and behold, the other two 3's filled in the vacancy. And if to just torture me...... there was the Ace if spades to accompany the two threes. Where was this hand a few minutes ago? This could have been my going home hand, but instead was paying out $1000. I played a little longer, and didn't want to "tempt the fates" by continuing to play. I cashed out a $1000 voucher and headed back to the main casino.

I passed by the Wheel of Fortune game, put in a hundred and only got 1 Spin for my money. Now that my luck had hopefully changed, I was going to give the bar one last shot. But it was already late and I knew I wouldn't be playing much longer. I was really tired. I put in one more hundred and switched between BP and DDB. Maybe...just maybe....I could hit that progressive royal that was now over $5800. Well that didn't happen, and when I got dealt 4 Jacks playing DDB, I cashed out and went up to bed.

Now that I had a little cushion to play with, I would hope that tomorrow...would finally hit that progressive royal.

Good night folks!
Good luck tomorrow. Glad you got your "cushion"
Tomorrow, tomorrow, the sun will come up tomorrow and I'll hit that progressive!! Glad to hear things turned around a bit for you, I hope you catch that big one tomorrow - keep us posted and good luck to you and Faye.

Reading these trip reports from BAGIANT is the next best thing to being there, and a lot cheaper too.

Five aces! No wonder it wanted you to call the attendant.

If memory serves, this is now the second time you've gotten a 5-of-a-kind at Silverton.

Looking forward to day 10.
I just reread that and noticed I said two more aces. Wonder what the payout would have been for 5 aces.
Awesome! Love your reports. It was also GREAT meeting you. Seemed like we have know each other for ever.
