Skylofts at MGM

My son is footing the bill for a Vegas trip at the end of the month as a father's day gift. My wife and I are staying at Caesars but he wanted to stay at the Skylofts at MGM. He's still in the blow money like no tomorrow phase despite my protestations.

Anyone have any feedback on staying in the Skyloft Suites? What's included, tipping etiquette for butlers, concierges, limo driver? I've tried to research on various websites but can't get the little details. I think soft drinks are included in the room but charges and service fees for alcohol and room service are quite expensive. They've also mentioned eating at the Mansion restaurant but I don't know if that's included or is just access granted for Skyloft guests.

Any information is appreciated. We haven't been to Vegas in 3 years so I'm quite excited.
While I'm a cheap SOB who prefers to stay downtown my wife is a boutique hotel aficionado. In Vegas, the Skylofts are her favorite.
They are great suites and impress even those who usually stay at upper end places.
My favorite part of the suites are the hot tubs on the balcony overlooking the strip.

Alcohol and food is quite expensive but given the level of service I would not say exuberant. I do not remember if soft drinks were free but there was a little questionnaire e-mailed to us the first time that we listed our favorites and they were there when we arrived. Since then, when we have stayed everything we like is there down to our brand of toothpaste.

On several occasions my wife has entertained clients in the suite. The concierge arranged everything. A couple of times it was a "simple" cocktail party but once was a full formal dinner. They were VERY expensive in my opinion. My wife says she tipped the concierge 6-7% of the cost of the party. Butlers get $5 to $10 per service call paid at the time of service since you don't always get the same butler.

I usually tip the limo driver $10, more for the airport trip because of luggage. But then, I'm cheap. I believe my wife tips more.

On our very first time staying at the Skylofts we were asked if we wanted to dine at The Mansion (it is by invitation only). It was very, very good but it was not free. In our subsequent trips we have not been invited again. Maybe I didn't tip enough.
Thank you very much for the reply. I will pass this info on to him.

And I'm also a cheap SOB. The apple fell really far from the tree in my family. I just ordered the American Casino Guide and bought an online LVA membership to make a coupon run. I did this about 4 years ago and turned the coupons into a little over $300 but that was back when there were several $25 match plays and I drove everywhere wanting to see all the casinos. My radius will be a lot narrower this time with downtown being the best target with several gambling coupons.

I'm picking my LVA book up at the office and hope to meet the iguana if it's still around.

T -21 and counting...
Good luck! BTW Would you be up for posting some pics of the skyloft, I'd love to see what they look like.

I'm not much of a photographer and probably couldn't master posting pics here, but this is a link to a video taken at a one bedroom Skyloft room.
