S'long, Dave !

At least poor old DonDiego can say that he did attend a performance of Late Night with David Letterman once. It was quite disappointing.

Nonetheless, occasionally Mr. Letterman would say something profound:

DonDiego notes that this pretty much holds true for participants in the LVA Fora too.

Yep. Remember that LVA participant here who claimed that Obamacare was causing their doctor to quit private practice? But then I pointed out that every reason given for quitting private practice was related to Medicare issues, NOT Obamacare?

I understand that was one angry LVA participant!
Having a doctor quit his practice is hardly a reason for anyone to get angry.

DonDiego does not know to whom forkushv is referring, . . . but DonDiego's physician did in fact quit his one-man practice; he told poor old DonDiego he quit because of implementation of Obamacare. But DonDiego was never angry over it.

Nowadays, Obamacare is turning out to be costing a lot more than had been expected for quite a few States. So expensive they are looking to turn things over to the Federal Exchange.

Example: Hawaii
"[Originally, the State] website cost taxpayers $205 million but could only enroll 8,592 individuals in year one. Cost to taxpayers per enrollee: $23,899.

[This year] The Obama administration had implemented the special enrollment period from March 15 - April 30 to assist individuals who were unaware they would face a tax penalty for not having 'qualifying' health insurance. In all, less than 250,000 individuals decided to enroll nationwide meaning that millions of Americans would rather pay the tax than enroll in Obamacare.
Hawaii’s Obamacare Exchange enrolled a grand total of ZERO — yes, zero people during its special enrollment period.

The state legislature recently rejected a $28 million bailout for the website meaning that a contingency plan to dismantle the exchange and migrate to the federal exchange will be implemented immediately. Unfortunately, taxpayers are not off the hook yet as it is expected that moving to the federally run healthcare.gov will cost $30 million.

Hawaii is not the first website to implode. Oregon’s $305 million exchange was officially abolished earlier this year at an additional cost and of $41 million. The exchange is currently under investigation by numerous federal organizations for how it wasted so much money.

In all, states received $5.4 billion from the federal government for state-based Obamacare exchanges with no strings attached and zero oversight over spending decisions."

But is poor old DonDiego angry?
Not especially, . . . DonDiego never expected Obamacare to pay for itself as some LVA posters, having heard The Obama say it would, believed.
It looks now that those States which did not set up their own exchanges pr'bly made the correct financial decision.

And DonDiego isn't even angry that the "penalty-tax" for not having insurance rises from $285-per-family or 1%-of-income-above-$10,150 in 2014 to $975-per-family or 2%-of-income-above-$10,150 this year.
[DonDiego has excellent health insurance. DonDiego underwent a lengthy radiation treatment last year to expunge a cancer; he'll learn how well it worked next month. But DonDiego's health insurance combined with Medicare resulted in pretty much $zero expenses to poor old DonDiego. n.b.If DonDiego had had the option of opting out of Medicare when he was a working man he would've done so. But it is not allowed. So, now poor old DonDiego thanks those still contributing to Medicare for their support.]
So the penalty-tax doesn't anger DonDiego. Heckfire, cancer didn't anger DonDiego. Things happen.

But, just maybe some uninformed folks are gonna start to get angry as the promise of Obamacare unravels in a torrent of unexpected costs and lower quality medical care.
Wait'll the "penalty-tax" rises to $2085 or 2.5% of income for 2016 !
Why the fact that somebody lied to them about all this stuff might be enough to make them even angrier.
But, not poor old DonDiego. DonDiego expected it was all a lie all along. He won't get angry.

But somebody might.

It really takes a lot to make DonDiego angry, . . . usually something personnel. But he is disappointed by the activities of an ever-expanding ever-more-inefficient, ever-more expensive, and ever-more intrusive Government.

But some people seem to like it.
Did Forkie argue at some point that DD's doctor is lying?

It seems to me that as the years passed, David Letterman became a mean spirited and nasty guy.

Americans for Tax Reform? DonDiego, if anything you pasted was true, you should really try and find a source that never laundered money for Jack Abramoff, and isn't funded by Koch and Rove.

Don't be angry; I'm just watching out for your credibility here.

If anything DonDiego posted is false, he requests forkushV correct it. [n.b.DonDiego knows invoking the names "Koch" and "Rove" is pretty scary to some folks, but it is hardly a cogent argument in a serious discussion. And the name "Abramoff" doesn't scare anybody any more.]

But DonDiego did take a moment, literally 15 seconds or so, to Google "Hawaii Obamacare Exchange", and a reason.com piece entitled "Obamacare’s State Exchange Crack-Up" popped up pretty much along the same lines as the Americans for Tax Reform report, and it even quotes the Washington Post which suggests the problems extend beyond Hawaii:
"Hawaii’s exchange is hurting for cash more than any other of the other state-run websites, but it’s hardly alone in struggling for cash. Earlier this month, The Washington Post reported that 'nearly half of the 17 insurance marketplaces set up by the states' and D.C. under Obamacare are 'struggling financially' in ways that present 'an unexpected and serious challenge' to the ongoing operations of the health law. 'Many of the online exchanges are wrestling with surging costs, especially for balky technology and expensive customer call centers — and tepid enrollment numbers,' the Post report said, leaving exchange officials to hunt for ways to pay for their systems."
If one cannot trust the Washington Post, what other esteemed news outlet can one trust?

Again, DonDiego is less, pr'bly much less, susceptible to anger than forkushV supposes. DonDiego thanks forkushV for looking out for him though.

Honorable mention should go to Md. as well, they spent a couple hundred million and they never got that program to work at all. They gave up and went on the Fed. exchange instead of throwing more money at it.

That was the Letterman show a couple of years ago, wasn't it?
