Whats the criteria do you have to get to get asked? Wife plays almost exclusively slots,and i join in sometimes as well(especially if i'm getting killed at the tables,i know,backward thinking),but we've never been invited to one. Seems like you guys get invitedpretty often.

Getting invited to Tournaments has something to do with the player letting the Slot Club know that you personally are interested in them.

When you initially filled out the information to get a Slot Club card, usually it asks what your interests are (including about any tournaments) and so that would have to be answered with a yes, not with a no answer (leaving it blank).

So go to the Slot Club and see what you can do to get that rectified!

Rec, when is the last time you joined a slot club? LOL

I recall filling out a card for each slot club years ago, but that has gone the way of the dinosaurs. When someone signs up for a Stations card, for example, I take their drivers license and enter name, birthdate, and address in the computer. The only things I ask them to provide are phone # and email address. The guest does not fill out anything, and there are no questions about their "interests."

Tournaments invitations are based on amount of play. Also, some casinos advertise tournaments that anyone can join, such as the daily slot tournament at MSS, or the Senior Wednesdays slot tournament at all Stations and Fiestas.

Sue, it has been at least a couple of years since I last joined a major slot club (although I have gotten new cards on and off for some places that I hadn't been back to for several years!

Well, thanks for the newer information!

And what if players at sign up time inquire about getting Slot Tournament invites? Can that get them on a list?

I guess that some people wouldn't want to bother with getting mail dealing with the tournaments and then other people definitely want invites.

I'm guessing it's easier to get invited to an Slot or VP Tourney at a casino off the Strip.

I always stay and play at The Orleans and get offers for Tourneys there all the time.

Get a Players Card and give them $ome play, then see if you get an invite.

Some are cool, with Awards Dinners and other freebies.

Rick is correct. I get invites to slot tournaments at MSS and the Cal, for example, with very little play on my part.

Invitational slot tournaments are often controlled by casino hosts, who determine the list of invitees.

I get slot tournament offers quite frequently from the Gold Coast as well as the Palms. Some are pretty good. The Boyd propety offers come through BeConnected and are usually 3 nights plus tournament entry for $99. Most of my Palms offers have been 3 nights, tournament entry plus some FSP. I think it really depends on your level of play. I am low level with Boyd but the highest leve at the Palms. I would say make a phone call to the casino of you choice, ask for a host and see what their criteria is for getting tournament invites. Never hurts to ask and if you win a major prize you will get asked back for many more (so they can hopefully get you to lose the money back).

Boyd has an iPad application that accesses the players account. One of the screens has several checkboxes where you can specify interests like slot ternaments. Maybe other casinos have online settings for their accounts.
